Here, you can learn about Nepal’s ancient history and might get a chance to see the living goddess Kumari.
The Old Kathmandu day tour commences at the prominent tourist hub, Thamel, in Kathmandu. If your accommodation is located there, the tour literally initiates from your hotel lobby. If you are residing elsewhere in the city, a brief 20-minute taxi drive will get you to the starting point.
The tour is an ideal opportunity to immerse oneself in the history, culture, and day-to-day life of Kathmandu locals. It’s accessible, short, and fairly priced to accommodate most voyagers.

Exceptional Experience! - This was our first visit to Kathmandu, and this tour could not have been better! Unlike many tours that simply check off the typical tourist sites, this tour covered those thoroughly, but also gave you a good sense of daily life in old town Kathmandu. Appreciating the people, the culture, and the lifestyle there enhanced every other aspect of the visit. Amazing Winter in Nepal - It was a very good and helpful experience for first timers coming to Nepal, like us. Both facilitators, Amber & Lok supported us very much and always gave their best to accommodate all our requests. I guarantee for all clients of them will get best overview of Nepal even to the smallest details such as “Tip Top Samosa” in the heart of Kathmandu.

The best tour in Kathmandu - Affordable and great experience **5 stars** - From start to finish this tour was incredible! Firstly the price is very affordable, Amber the guide is knowledge and easy going! This tour is unique as you get to see the incredible tourist sights in Kathmandu including dunbar square and the living goddess Kumari whilst also seeing the unexplored off the beating track locations.
Take the option to extend in the afternoon to visit Patan, Monkey temple and Pushupati which id highly recommend!

Excellent tour - This was an excellent tour. I was able to learn and experience so much, including meeting a Hindu priest at a small beautiful temple and interacting with him and getting to see the living child goddess. Modo was a great guide.

Great morning exploring the heart of Kathmandu - Really wonderful morning exploring the Kathmandu Durbar Square and Asan Bazaar. The guide was very knowledgeable, and showed us a lot of details we would have missed on our own. Seeing the living goddess Kumari was a highlight. Would recommend to others.

Excellent starting point for first time visitors. - A good experience and welcome introduction to Kathmandu. My guide was good and provided a good insight into many religious and cultural aspects of Nepalese life. It was possible to enter many places with his leadership that I would likely have missed through a lack of confidence. It was not cheap and a tip seemed to be expected but the experience was still worth it.

lovely walking tour of kathamandus streets - Interesting walking tour- even if you've walked around in the area you will have missed some of the nice small stupas, temples and public places, historic sites and the "courtyards" that are just out of sight. This is a nice way to see more into Kathmandu and its history and culture, learn about the people and their culture while walking along the streets and watching the day begin.
