An amazing cultural experience & introduction to Nepal - I was lucky enough to do this culture and food tour on my very first day in Nepal. And, man what a wonderful introduction it was to the nation! We began in Kathmandu's Durbar Square, before traveling to the village of Bungamati. There, I tried some delicious Newari specialties like yomori and Newari Khaja. From there, we traveled to Lalitpur and explored a ton of temples while dipping into the mazelike alleyways and learning about the history of the area. I learned a lot about Buddhism in Nepal specifically and the way its synergized with Hinduism to a large extent. Finishing the tour, we had a splendid meal of traditional dishes back in Kathmandu. All were delicious. The friendliness and knowledge of the guides for this tour is second to none as well. They were very accommodating to me as I had arrived late and encountered a lot of trouble with my card. They made me feel at peace and worked around my conundrums. Beyond that, they provided me with a ton of information on Newari culture, history and food traditions so that I could really understand everything we were seeing. All in all, I'd totally recommend this tour. It was the perfect introduction to Nepal for me and a great way for anyone traveling there to understand the area to a deeper degree!
