Olympia - Museum and Actual Historic Site - On November 25, 2023 we visited Katakolon and Olympia. I believe Elena was our tour guide. She was excellent. We met the small bus as expected, and proceeded to Olympia. Since it was raining, Elena suggested that we visit the museum first. This was a great idea, since we were able to properly orient ourselves to the ancient site. Elena was extremely knowledgeable about what we were seeing, and immersed us in the 400's BC time period. We learned a great deal about the Greek gods and how they were very important to the original games. The site has been extensively excavated, and many of the statues were in the museum. The rain stopped and we proceeded to the site. It was breathtaking. We walked where the ancient athletes walked. History came to life in the words from Elena. On the way back to the ship, we stopped at a store that had Olive Oil and honey tasting. A nice place, and the stop was not too long. A great day!

Olympia and olive oil/honey tasting - Small group tour of 14. Our guide Elena met us at the port and provided us with so much information about the history of her beautiful country. Our visit of the Olympia site and museums were so interesting, the sites are so big you could spend hours wandering around the grounds and museum. After our visit to Olympia we had a wonderful little stop for olive oil and honey tasting, so many options to choose from and the prices were not bad at all.

The “Travel Inside(r) Scoop” - Our tour guide, Joan, was very informative about the area as we made our way to the Archaeological Museum and Olympia. Joan handed it off to Maria,, who took us around the museum and shared her knowledge. She then walked with us through Olympia, the site of the first Olympics. She gave us details about the site and then let us try our hand at the stadium. Joan took the reins as we headed to the olive oil tasting market. It was very nice. All in all, it was a very good day!

Wonderful guide - Elias was an exceptional guide. He shared first-hand archeological experience, and we left with an understanding of how the parts of the very large Olympia site came together.

Two Sisters Who Do it Right - I thought this tour experience was excellent from start to finish. This is a family tour company from the area and they had the inside ‘scoop’ on how to do this tour. When I signed up for the tour, I got reassurance through emails from the owner of the company so I always felt someone would be at the port waiting for me. The group was small and the driver was excellent getting us there with plenty of time before all the cruise ship buses got there. The tour guide was someone who majored in archeology and was excellent. The stop at the market was excellent. Try the Blood Orange Olive oil. They were very accommodating. The last 40 minutes of the tour we had time to stop for a quick lunch! Highly recommend!!!!!
