Additional Information

Our trek begins from the village of Kastraki, situated near the Meteora rocks. Shortly, we’ll encounter the ancient remnants of the Pantokrator monastery. From this point, we will journey through the massive Meteora rocks, traversing a beautiful forest. We’ll soon arrive at the Large Meteoron Metamorphosis monastery — the earliest and grandest monastery of this historical monastic state.

Starting from the car park, we will ascend an old, forgotten path to the remote Ypapantis monastery, nestled behind the towering rocks. After around two hours of exploring, we will return to Kastraki village. We’ll also stop at key vantage points for stunning views of Kalambaka, the Pinios valley and the majestic Pindos peaks. In all, we will tour the interiors of 2 monasteries, dependent on the day of the visit.

Beautiful and energizing - I was with a group and the tour guides were amazing! They told us beautiful stories and showed us all the good spots for sight seeing. They were super friendly and very approachable. The hike itself was fun and very doable. Would definitely recommend!
