Additional Information

The Island has three beaches, all within a very short walking distance. Varadero and Cuachalalate beaches have calm water with sandy bottom where you can swim, and the Coral Beach on the back of the island it’s a great place to snorkel in shallow water because of its beautiful coral reef and wide variety of marine life.

The amount of fish on coral beach is so good that you will be able to see them right from the shore line.

On the island you will also have the chance to relax in a lounge chair with a constant breeze or take a short walk into the bushes to see the tame white tail deer.

On the way back from the Island we will visit at a lagoon full of crocodiles, iguanas, lagoon turtles and beautiful birds in a natural habitat.

Superb guide for your experience for all activities and adventures in the Ixtapa Zihuatenejo area. Booking another tour! - HIGHLY recommend Luis de la Maza for tours and activities in Ixtapa Zihuatenejo. Very experienced, knowledgeable and professional guide. The Ixtapa Island snorkeling tour was easy, efficient and filled with information about the area we drove through and then visited in the island. Luis managed all tickets, boat details, snorkeling equipment, lunch and customized according to our interests. This included personally guiding the snorkeling over the reef using a float board with rope handles. I’m an experienced diver and I appreciated his ability to take some of the work out of moving over a new reef system to both see as much of the reef as possible and keep both snorkeler and reef safe underwater bumps. The diverse birds, crocs and iguanas in a small lagoon eat the boat pier was an interesting plus for a lovely, well balanced day. The water temperature was heaven. We are booming Luis for additional adventures here! It was a delight.

Very swimable beaches - We were able to swim on the island as there was no rip tide or undertow. We stayed and played in the water for over and an hour, then went back in two more times...just lovely...

Not what I expected - This was not what I expected. We were picked up and taken to the island. Make sure that you bring tip money because everyone is asking for money. The island itself is not being taken care of. There are deserted buildings and unsafe structures, and most of the island is off-limits. You must stay in the restaurant areas. Which is very crowded. There is not much space to enjoy a peaceful lunch. The snorkeling is busy and cloudy. There seemed to be lots of sand stirring up that day. We never got a tour of the Playa Linda as promised. The tour operator seemed to be in a rush and he skipped that part of the tour. Next time, I will just stay at the resort or try out a new beach.

Average experience - I wouldn't call this a tour. There was a leader who got us to the island then got us seated. We did not learn anything about the history of the island and were not granted any extra amenities. The leader was not very enthusiastic, I'd say adequate. As for the experience on the island it was ok...nothing special. The snorkelling wasn't great, visibility was terrible. The food was meh. You can visit the island without a guide, which would be less expensive and you would have the freedom to come and go as you like.
