Additional Information

Embark on a journey to explore the diverse landscapes of the Fez region. Prepare to traverse through mountains, waterfalls, and forests. Our journey starts at Imouzar, a quaint village nestled between Fez and Ifrane, renowned for its caves. These caves, used by the Berber locals for generations, offer an intriguing glimpse into the history and culture of the region. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a traditional Berber tea ceremony before we continue our journey to Ifrane, fondly referred to as ‘little Switzerland.’ Post your visit to the charming Swiss-esque town, we venture through a cedar forest famous in Morocco for its Barbary Apes, known as ‘The Magot,’ often seen playfully swinging from trees. Our journey concludes at Azrou, a traditional Berber village. Here, the earliest inhabitants demonstrate their creative skills through carpets and woodwork. Following a leisurely lunch, we explore the local market and the majestic mosque centered in Azrou.

The medina - Very interesting excursion, done partly by car to visit the places outside the Medina and both on foot where we saw the various artisan activities of Fes, the tannery, the ceramics, carpet weavers, embroidery factory. All very beautiful and characteristic. Definitely worth doing because only in this way can you see all the colours, flavors and smells of the pulsating Medina of Fez. Beautiful!!!

The highlight of our trip - When we had to make a last minute change to our plan (for reasons out of our control), Jaafar from Touria Tours came to the rescue and proposed an alternative that perfectly met our needs: a day trip to the Middle Atlas and a day trip to Chefchaouen. I can honestly say that the two days we spent driving around with him were the highlight of our trip. His English is great and we really enjoyed talking to him and learning more about Morocco, chatting about music, culture, everything really. When our flight home was cancelled, we decided to stay at Touria Palace, where we met Amed, another incredibly kind, generous person. He even got up at 2 am to escort us from the riad to our taxi. Next time we go to Morocco, we will definitely be booking the desert trip and requesting our favorite driver, Jaafar!!
