Highlights
  • Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park - We enter the Ordesa valley along a track under the forest, next to the Arazas riverbed. Because it’s different. Because I show you how the species of trees, shrubs, mushrooms and flowers are happening with the altitude and orientation. How old are the forests, what birds occur and we will even look for traces of the most frequent mammals until we reach the beginning of the Harrows of Soaso.\nWhile we eat, we will be able to observe a large number of birds and the first subalpine meadows. Then we go down and review, I tell you stories, we keep taking photos ..\n\nFrom the parking lot to the Cotatuero fir mixed with birch, beech and hazelnut trees close to the Cascade of the Strait (45 ‘) that give way to the beech forest, interrupted by the fresneda of the Cueva Frachineto (45’) and then the pasture of birches to the top from the stands of Soaso. Another 45 ‘2:15 hours of gentle ascent plus time to take photos. Open to itinerary changes; softer, more demanding, without people, of vertigo .. Ask me!\n\n- Monte Perdido - From the top of Soaso Gradas Waterfall only 20’ more to the Mt. Perdido foot, over our heads. A huge plane until arrive at Cola de Caballo Waterfall

ON THE MOVE WORKSHOP
We start our journey into the Ordesa valley following a path amidst the woods, alongside the Arazas stream. Everything seems ordinary up to this point, but what makes this trip unique?

As we journey, I offer an interactive workshop where we’ll learn to identify various species of birds, flora, trees, bushes and fungi indigenous to the Ordesa National Park, explaining why they thrive here and how they distribute based on altitude and orientation.

I’ll guide you on how to determine the age of each tree, identify birds and recognise the tracks left by the common mammals inhabiting the area, till we arrive at the Soaso waterfalls.

IN A NUTSHELL..
Starting from the car park, we pass through the Cotatuero fir trees interspersed with birch, beech and hazelnut trees closer to the Waterfalls of the Strait (45 minutes’ walk) which then changes to a beech forest, interrupted by ash trees around the Frachineto Cave (another 45 minutes) leading into a birch pasture at the top of the Gradas of Soaso. With a comfortable uphill walk of another 45 minutes, all in all, allowing 2.15 hours excluding photography breaks.
