Additional Information

If you’re interested in exploring ancient Chinese script, the Anyang Chinese Character Museum is an exceptional venue for discovering and studying primitive writing. Here, you’ll encounter some of the oldest Chinese characters, which are etched into tortoise shells and animal bones. These inscriptions, typically found on the oracle bones from the Shang Dynasty, are predominantly connected to prognostications made during divinations, which is why scholars refer to them as divinatory inscriptions.
Today’s exhibition includes exquisite bronze artifacts, chariot pits, and insights into the harsh rituals surrounding royal deaths, including human and animal sacrifices that accompanied rulers into the afterlife.
The Tomb of Fuhao stands out as a significant archeological find within the grounds of the Yin Ruins Palace Ancestral Temple, untouched since 1928. It represents the only intact royal burial site from the Shang Dynasty, measuring 5.6 meters from north to south and 4 meters from west to east, with a depth of 7.5 meters.
Immerse yourself in the rich narrative of the Shang era’s Chinese history with today’s tour. You’re cordially invited to join us.
