Highlights
  • Ho Chi Minh City - Guests will be picked up from the accommodation in District 1, District 3 and District 4 before the tour start. The pickup usually takes around 30 minutes.

After the pickup, you will head to Cu Chi to discover the Tunnels history.

  • Cu Chi Tunnels - The Cu Chi Tunnels, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, were an extensive network of underground tunnels that served as a critical strategic location during the Vietnam War. Constructed over several years, the tunnels spanned more than 250 kilometers and were made up of multiple layers, including living quarters, kitchens, meeting rooms, hospitals, and even schools. The tunnels were dug by hand, using rudimentary tools such as shovels, hoes, and picks, and the workers would remove the soil from the tunnels and conceal it in nearby fields to avoid detection.

Navigating through the Cu Chi Tunnels was a complex task, requiring specialized knowledge and training. The tunnels were narrow, with a height of only a few feet, and were often filled with traps and obstacles, such as spike pits and hidden doors. The Viet Cong soldiers were trained to move silently and quickly through the tunnels, using their knowledge of the terrain to avoid detection.

  • Ho Chi Minh City - The tour will ends back to your Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Traveler who wish to be dropped off near the airport, please inform us anytime possible.

Informative Ben Duoc Tunnels Tour - Me and my partner had a great time on the Ben Duoc tunnels tour. The vicinity was quiet (only a few groups), and we got to try out a few different tunnels and see some of the underground rooms. Tom, our tour guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Amazing tour - This was a fantastic tour. Safa is a really great guide who provided entensive information and knowledge on Vietnam in general and on the history of the tunnels. The tour was very hands on, we were given the opportunity to go down into numerous tunnels (widened for tourists) which was very eye opening and a great experience (don't wear white if you plan to go into the tunnels). We got to try some tapioca which is what the soldiers lived on during the war. The Ben Duoc tunnels were very quiet, we almost had the place to our group which was great, so this version of the tour is a much better option than the more touristy version.

An unforgettable experience - My husband and I booked the less crowded half day Ben Duoc tunnel tour. It was a great tour, and Safa was a great guide. We were happy with our choice to go with the less crowded option, we practically had the place to ourselves. There was no crowds of people, no rushing through exhibits or tunnels, and it was peaceful! This tour is a lot more ‘hands on’ than we expected it to be, but we were very pleased with this. There were numerous tunnels we could go down and try out, some of which are very small and hot! So be prepared (don’t wear white clothing!). Going down into the tunnels is completely optional. There was the option to go to the shooting range (paid for separately) however no one on our tour was interested in this and as our guide explained, it is very expensive. Half way to the tunnels, we stopped at a rest stop that doubles as a craft centre to support those impacted by Agent Orange (chemical from the war). We were shown how the workers make the craft, and we had the option to support by buying items from the shop if we wanted to.

Amazing experience! - Thank you Tommy and Joy Journeys for this well-organised trip to Ben Duoc. I only booked the night before and was pleasantly surprised by your responsiveness. Good communication, professional and gentle is how I would describe Tommy. I was there with 2 boys aged 8 and 6 who learnt a lot about the Viet Cong and the war, and enjoyed going through the tunnels. We even enjoyed the stop at Lam Phat handicrafts, it is a nice way to learn about the creation process and support the community.

Cu Chi half day tour - This tour lives up to its name...small group tour in a less crowded tunnel area. We had Tommy as our tour guide for 9 adults and he was great, sharing the history and also personal family experiences. The van was comfortable with good air conditioning and the driver was awesome, he was even waiting for us with frozen bottles of water for the drive home. I was picked up on time and returned by 1430 so it did not feel like a long day despite the 2 hour drive to get there. I felt like we spent enough time at the Cu Chi tunnels and where not rushed through. Thank you Tommy for a great tour :)
