Great hands on experience for all - The workshop is a bit out of town and tucked away down a back street so quite hard to find. Unfortunately, the place wasn't able to offer the pick-up service but they kept me informed via WhatsApp and I was able to get a taxi from my hotel (have Google Maps at the ready if doing this as driver unsure of location).
The experience itself was excellent. Was booked in for 8.30am and didn't actually leave until nearly 1pm. Was so nice to get the time to make some pieces myself and then have a browse around the shop area and get many gifts to take home (and they personalised items for me too).
Everyone is very patient and helpful and lets you do the creation yourself, just stepping in when needed on trickier bits. They trust you with the power tools and sanders but are keeping an eye out for you. I was able to make a lovely hinged pen holder and others that were there a tankard and a lamp.
As a bonus it was absolutely teeming down with rain all day so great to have this indoor activity booked!

Authentic unique one-of-a-kind must do!! - By far one of the most authentic experience is well worth the money I will do it again and I would request for an early start so you can take your time but definitely the most authentic experience around. Enjoy the host master bamboo artist very cool and I’ll tell you something one in which is worth every dime there’s many other things I would not do on a budget— Make sure you make room for your goodies for the return flight!

great bamboo workshop - very nice an kind "bamboo-teacher"
he was very helpful and ir really was fun! we werw a family, it was also great for the 5years old daughter... we really do recommend this workshop! thank you!!!

Being an artisan? - We had a great time at the workshop for a quiet Sunday morning session. Mr Tan was very informative and skilled. The workshop is well-equipped and has excellent ventilation. We learned a number of techniques including manual and electric tools, and we ended up with 2 nice bamboo containers for flowers (or possibly for beer).
