Cooking and coconut boat tour - This tour is something everyone should experience when travelling in Vietnam. We did our here in Hoi An. And the tour was very well organised and executed. Our tour guide and driver was Long and he was fantastic and has very good English and was very informative about the food we would be cooking. Upon arrival we did a coconut boat ride which was very good if you want you can pay extra and do the spins. Finally we did the cooking. The equivalent of a four course meal. My favourite was the spring rolls will be making these back in Ireland. The cook that was helping us duyen she was great and up for abit of banter. Overall great experience and highly recommend

Best tour to go on to do and experience a variety of things - We loved this tour. The visit at the morning market was interesting to see how local shopping is done. The Bamboo Bowl Boat was fun and enjoyed seeing how to fish 3 different ways (spread net, full net and line/hook). Our 10-year old daughter was given the opportunity to toss the spread net and haul it back in. The cooking class was the highlight! We made 4 local dishes, the guide spoke well in English and the family who ran the cooking class in the front part of their home had everything set up cleanly and professionally, all was cleared away while we are and re-set again, perfectly choreographed. We were so stuffed none of us in our group couldn’t eat the 4th dish. At the end we were given the recipe on how to make everything.

Great tour for the family - We were connected to this tour through our hotel. We’re a family of five (2 adults and kids 10, 8 and 6). Based on our schedule and recommendation from the hotel, we decided to go in the afternoon tour instead of the morning. As a result, the visit to the market was fairly subdued. Apparently the market is busier during the morning. However, we still got to taste a whole range of different fruits and herbs and despite a late afternoon storm sweeping through, the poncho that our guide Long supplied us with kept us dry. Next stop to the coconut boat tour. A fairly bizarre spectacle, but worth the experience. Our kids had a chance to get spun around in one of the boats by a random dude pumping along to Gangnam style. They were also given the opportunity to let out a fish net and both boats managed to catch a tiny fish, which was fun. The cooking tour followed and this was excellent! We prepped and cooked 4 meals, each of which our kids loved…and they’re generally pretty fussy. The fried spring rolls were the unanimous hero dish for all of us. Our cooking host was lovely and patient, helping all five of us turn out edible and credible versions of the culinary delights we’d been sampling throughout Vietnam. We were completely stuffed by the end of the meal and we’d skipped lunch in preparation for eating. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending going with this tour. It wasn’t too expensive and very well structured. The kids all loved it too. Thanks Long and family for an excellent tour!

A day’s worth of interests in just 4.5 hrs - What a lovely experience! We walked around a local market and tried various produce, lazied around in a basket boat with a fun guide and then cooked four delicious meals. The ingredients were fresh and the three guides (one for each part of the experience) were so kind and knowledgeable. It was just two of us and the whole experience lasted from 8:15am to 12:45pm Highly recommend Papa’s cooking and fishing tour!
