Highlights
  • Skokloster Castle - Skokloster is considered one of the great Baroque castles of Europe. Built between 1654 and 1676 for Count Carl Gustaf Wrangel it is a monument to the Swedish Age of Greatness, the period in the middle of the seventeenth Century when Sweden expanded to become one of the major powers in Europe.
  • Sigtuna Boardwalk - Sigtuna was founded on what was then the shore of Lake Mälaren just over 1,000 years ago. It took its name from an ancient royal estate (see Uppsala öd) several kilometers to the west (see Fornsigtuna). Various sources claim King Eric the Victorious as founder while others claim King Olof Skötkonung.

Great private tour - It was a great tour. The guide took us to a high point in Stockholm to have a view of the city. Then the drive to Sigtuna was nice, sharing a lot of information about Sweden. Once in Sigtuna we walked through town, visited the 2 stone churches. Our last stop was the best: Skokloster Castle. The tour inside the castle was done by a castle guide, and it was the cherry on top!! We enjoy the day, being just our group of 4 they were very accommodating when it came to time and places. Highly recommended.
