Wished it
Not That Kind of Coast
With the Haleakala volcano as your backdrop, this bike ride is a great workout—for your handbrake muscles! After being driven to the top of Haleakala National Park, the only resistance you’ll encounter is the wind in your face. With the hard work done for you, you’ll be equipped with a mountain bike, helmet, backpack, rain/wind gear, gloves and a map, and then set free to coast down the spectacular 23 miles to sea level at your own pace. You’ll wind along this unbridled 6-10 hour journey past farms, gardens, and shops. Early-risers can opt for the mystical sunrise ride, which includes watching the sun come up at Haleakala’s summit before spending the remainder of the day cruising down the majestic mountain.
Reviews
We enjoyed a thoroughly professional tour. Friendly people, easy check-in, good equipment, and one of the best tour guides (Kimo) we have had in the last several years. Couple all that with one of the most interesting places in the Islands and you have an excellent excursion.
