Uplistsikhe caves, colloquially known as ‘The Lord’s Fortress’, date back to the 1st-2nd millennium B.C. During historical times, this city held a significant position in Kartli, and even throughout the middle ages. Its location facilitated a key trade route stretching from Byzantium to India and China.
The Joseph Stalin Museum provides a fascinating peek into the dictator’s life through well curated exhibits including rare photos, artifacts, and pieces of furniture. Sitting under a protective stone canopy nearby is the preserved house where Stalin was born.
In the revered spaces of Georgia, SVETITSKHOVELI Cathedral, an 11th century UNESCO site, holds a prominent position with the precious Christ’s robe being safeguarded within the cathedral.
