All perfect - Fantastic experience with Memphis Tour, the itineraries and trips were organized to perfection, with care and attention to our requests, thanks to our contact person, Huda, fantastic. The stay in Egypt was unforgettable, in a wonderful land that I had wanted to visit for some time and which I had full of great expectations, all of which were successful! After visiting Giza, Saqqara, Cairo, Alexandria and spending a night in the white desert, the cruise from Luxor to Aswan was the completion of the trip. Our guide, an exceptional Egyptologist, with an unpronounceable name for us 😄 called Mimmo, explained to perfection, with great enthusiasm and passion, every single "pebble" of the various temples visited, practically dissecting them, illustrating as much historical and possible; I believe I have never encountered such a prepared, alert, active and empathetic guide on any other trip. I plan to return to Alexandria to visit the famous library which unfortunately was missed due to lack of time, and I will do so via the Memphis tour. Absolutely recommended!

Done with Love with brilliant tour guide Amr Ahmed 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 - We seriously don't know from which part to start our review for our experience in Egypt after touring the capital City Cairo. We toured Cairo with the brilliant tour guide Amr Ahmed, what a tour guide, Amr professionally shortened the history of Egypt in very exciting way,in fact our tour guide excelled to bring all the sites we have been to life, such as the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum. We would like to thank Memphis Tours for sending Amr, he was not just a typical tour guide, but Amr is a fantastic photographer knows the best poses and spots around all the places and perfectly made our tour memorable with his brilliant photos and the video he made for us at the pyramids. We found Egypt is very safe, the people are friendly, and Memphis Tours did a great job. We highly recommend Amr Ahmed as a tour guide for having the best experience in Egypt.

Beautiful Cairo - We had a short, two day visit to Cairo. Abdullah from Memphis Tours met us at the airport. We are from Memphis, Tn, so it was a pleasant coincidence. Abdullah is a very cordial and hard working young man. He took us to the hotel and helped check us in. He went over our itinerary and offered optional tours. He is knowledgeable and had good suggestions. He, along with driver Magdi and guide Mohammad Salah took wonderful care of us and showed us all the sights. They are very punctual and we never had any issues with getting everywhere on time. They dropped us back at the airport and I am writing this as we await boarding. I will highly recommend Abdullah, Salah and Magdi of Memphis Tours for trip to Cairo.

Once in a life time! - We had the best time in Cairo with Ahmed Helal as our guide and Mohamed Askary as our driver. both men were so informative in the Egypt culture and great at their job. Ahmed Helal was well respected at all the guard stations and exhibitions entry. He was kind and generous to the less fortunate, respectful and patient, well respected amounts this colleagues with excellent English and extremely knowledgeable all things to do with Egyptology history and religion. His study and degree in this field makes him a very knowledgeable guide. Our Driver Mohamed Askary spoke good English and even taught my partner useful Arabic phases. He was a great driver and made us feel safe with every journey. He was on time and always happy to wait for us. He had cold water on hand and opened doors at every stop. Mohammed Fathy was our tour leader and picked us up from the airport, which was a blessing to be able to get through immigration and let him do the talking for us. Some of the immigration officers didn’t seem to be the happiest people and he got us through without a fuss. Overall a very well planned, safe and smooth trip! Thanks Memphis and our team

Amazing time in Cairo with Ahmed Helal and Mohamed Askary - My partner and I spent 4 nights and 3 days in Cairo, booked through Memphis tours with Mohammed Fathy as our leader, Ahmed Helal as our guide and Mohammed Askary as our driver. All were great. Ahmed Helal was fantastic, it was so nice exploring the city with a guide who was clearly in it to make sure tourists have a wonderful, safe and informative time. We covered so many interesting sites in the three days. We visited the ancient Egypt sites across the dynasty’s, old city, mosques , churches and museums and we were comfortable and felt safe the whole time. The tour is customisable to your needs, however as we had never visited before we just let Ahmed lead the way, which turned out to be a brilliant choice. Ahmed’s study in the area equip him to be the best tour guide / Egyptologist around, even other guides and his colleagues agree. He is also a great photographer- which made for an even better experience, when you have great photos afterwards! Our diver Mohamed Askary had great service and was always waiting for us with the car air conditioned and water cold. He was kind and very safe driver in the Cairo madness. He even took us the long way to see some extra sites. Such a friendly and lovely man. We cannot recommend our guide Ahmed Helal and driver Mohamed Askary highly enough- you should request this duo! They are the best in the business!! Mohammed Fathy collected us from inside the airport and made the immigration and customs smooth and easy, which we were nervous about. He was very organised and kept in touch to make sure we knew where we were meant to be and when. Amir Yassin from Memphis office was great in helping us set up this tour and organise it all via email, despite the time difference between Australia and Egypt and even called pre-tour to make sure we were all on the same page. While the tour is expensive in comparison to travelling independently, the accomodation is fancy and the organisation made for very smooth, safe and easy travelling through Egypt. We didn’t really care for the ‘government sites’/tourist hotspots but you can request not to go there and it isn’t a problem. Thanks again to Memphis and particularly Ahmed and Mohamed!

Amazing Honeymoon! - Memphis Tours was amazing! Our trip was so personalized and well put together we could never have done it on our own. We typically backpack and have traveled quite a bit but decided to relax a little and let someone else do the logistics for our honeymoon in Egypt and I can honestly say we could not have had a more rewarding trip. One of the highlights of our trip was our guides. Marwa Ghazal and Sameh Shahat Bebawy were phenomenal. Their love for history, Egyptian culture, and ability to share it with others is tangible. They are so knowledgeable and eager to provide the newest findings, information, and passion. They also are priceless in terms of knowledge surrounding social customs (of which there are many) in Egypt. Ahmed - our tour coordinator was also wonderful. He was always available and made sure to connect with us several times throughout our trip. Every moment from our visa process to our 3am flight home was aided with Ahmed’s assistance. Next our driver Yassir - navigating traffic in Egypt can be a dizzying process as a traveler but he made it look easy. Such a good sense of humor and so hospitable providing water and even medicine when one of us got a bad case of travelers illness in Alexandria. At no time did we ever feel unsafe. At no time did we ever feel unwelcome. Some tips for fellow travelers in general - -Tipping culture is very real! They are not compulsory but you will feel a little obligated for some services. Over 9 days we spent just over $200 in tips. This may be a little more than what some others have spent but - Pack Pepto. Even if you have a strong stomach it’s worth having on hand just in case. We used antinal which is an antibiotic not used in the US/UK but it did seem to help clear up at least one tummy bug on the trip. It can be found in Russia, Czech, Latin and South America under different names. - If you have a touchy stomach it is worth using mineral water for brushing your teeth and avoiding raw vegetables that may have been washed in tap water. If you don’t want to use plastic water bottles Iodine is always an option to bring with. - On guided tours when you make stops at certain stores you will be told “no pressure” to buy. However this is typically only true if you show no interest in the items for sale. Once you show even a remote interest you will be pushed towards buying. If you want to avoid this then be knowledgeable about your trip itinerary and be willing to be assertive, don’t be overly concentrated on appearing polite, and say no kindly and walk out if need be - your guide will support you in that decision. - With any your company you will be given options for additional opportunities typically at the beginning of the trip. My advice would be to wait before you add on any additional activities until your second or third day. This will give you time to adjust and negotiate how tired you are with how much you want do. If you realize you would like to do an activity reach out as early as you can to your operator and they will let you know how feasible it is. - Ladies, be prepared to be stared at. Will not matter if you are fully covered or in a swim suit at your hotel/cruise. Also be prepared to be asked quite frequently where you are from even by total strangers. Do not feel obligated to provide an answer. Also when you visit tourist places, particularly Alexandria where many Egyptians go on holiday, be ready for strangers to ask to take photos with you. This is typically harmless but again you are not obligated - just be kind and firm if you do not want your picture taken. - Learn how to say Thank You, Goodbye, and No in Arabic. A little appreciation for the language and people goes a long way in being kind and courteous (even if you are turning down a service). - Be kind. Recognize you are a visitor to a living city not a museum. -However good you think you are at bartering you are probably wrong - be okay with that or don’t shop. Haggling prices can be an exhausting experience and not everyone enjoys it. My advice - don’t agonize over paying 10 or 20 dollars more than you wanted. Short term memory in this area may be beneficial. - Have fun! Egypt is an amazing country don’t be afraid to enjoy yourself.
