Pico Do Areeiro - There is no better way of starting the day than to experience the unique sunrise in Madeira… very invigorating! An event of this nature, only Pico do Areeiro can provide at it’s best.
We start climbing up to Areeiro, the 3rd highest peak of Madeira with 1818m of altitude. We climb via Camacha, a little village in the mountains famous by it’s wickers pieces. After Camacha is Poiso, wich has a shelter house now turned in to a bar/restaurant, and marks the 1500m of altitude… and finally we arrive at Pico do Areeiro, the highest point in Madeira, and an unique place to watch the sunrise
After the sunrise we go down in remote routs, in which we can appreciate Santo da Serra, a village surrounded by raw nature and breathatking views.
The final descent to Santa Cruz, a city most known by the airport, and we will use very remote and narrow roads, that provides amazing postcards pictures. -
Santo da Serra - After the sunset, we go down to Santo da Serra, an extense village where agriculture is the main suport of the villagers, and it is well known by the Golf Camp. The village is well surrounded by raw nature… worthy of a postcard.

Santa Cruz - The final descent from Santo da Serra to Santa Cruz, a city most known by the Internacional Airport of Madeira. Here we stop to take a cup of coffee or a cupcake in the centre, in the most known bakery in the city

Balcoes de Ribeiro Frio - The beautifull viewpoint is in the middle of the Laurisilva Forest, along a very flat hiking trail… at the end you will be amazed by the views!

Book with Hugo! - We had a wonderful tour with Hugo. There are several options for sunrise tours, but I would book with Hugo again. He is very knowledgeable and easy going. He contacted us the day before to update us on the weather and arrange an early morning pick up from the hotel. On the drive, he pointed out and described points of interest. At the top of Pico de Arieiro, he walked us down a short path and suggested several places for us to watch the sunrise. We then watched the sunset solo. What a beautiful moment! The weather was a little misty and moody, but it made the pictures more interesting! Afterwards we took a short drive through a beautiful forest and stopped for coffee and another short hike to a view point. The last stop of the day was one of my favorite spots on the island and not to be missed Miraduoro do Guindaste! Thank you Hugo, one of my favorite parts of the trip!

Don't hesitate! - Ofcourse Hugo doesn't create this magnificent sunrise himself, so those credits go to Mother Nature.
But: Hugo monitors the weather himself, upto 1 hour before you leave to make sure you have the most magnificent view that won’t disappoint you, the activity doesn't get canceled if you're the only passenger, Hugo is very patient so you are not tied to a schedule and you can take as much pictures as you want or just enjoy the views, you will drive through different kinds of nature which are all breathtaking, you can make a nice little walk along one of the famous levada's where you will also meet the most friendly birds and finally there is a stop at a magnificent viewpoint with a high instagram degree. On top of that, Hugo knows a lot (maybe everything?) about this beautiful island so you get tons of interesting information, but not in a boring way like a guide who repeats the same text every day again, and you can ask him whatever you need (to know).
Definitely the best 5 hours I spent here! Thanks again Hugo!

Awesome Pico do Arieriro tour with Hugo - We were so thrilled to have experienced a majestic Sunrise. Our tour guide, Hugo Melim, was friendly, knowledgeable, and an engaging person.
He provided us the pick-up information, the day before. The pick-up was right on time. We felt safe with his careful driving on winding roads during early morning hours. During the entire trip he provided us useful information. We felt like we were riding with a friend.
Hugo made the tour memorable. We highly recommend the tour with him.

Awesome Tour - Awesome tour. Hugo, our guide, was all you could hope for - attentive, informative and genuine. He spoke very good English and went above and beyond to explain every aspect of the tour especially the local traditions. He was also super friendly and very generous with his time. We thoroughly enjoyed the five hours of the tour. Highly recommended!

Probably the best in the island! A really enjoyable and versatile sunrise tour in Pico do Arieiro - Hugo, the founder of off road seeker is a very nice host and tour guide locally from Madiera.He knows very well about the island, and particular about the weather. (which is particular important,trust me!)
When I came to him I already went to Pico Do Arieiro in another day under heavy fog with another tour. I was very disappointed and in a deep hope that I could ateast see some mountain view on my last day in Madeira.
Hugo didn’t disappoint me,he checked the weather carefully and all the conditions before the night, come particularly to my residence to pick me up at 6am to arrive to the peak before the crowd comes to let me save a nice spot.Afterall,he drives me directly back to the airport to cater for my itinerary!

I managed to see the most beautiful sunrise in Pico Do Arieiro. The walk is very pleasant,he will design the tour base on your needs. Afterall, we had a coffee, chat about local wine and food. Hugo is definitely a very passionate local guide. He then brought me to the best viewpoints of Miraduoro do Guindaste, and we end the tour to a easy hike trail along Balcoes.
I definitely recommend this tour,and off road seeker. Madeira is a very pretty island with its very reowned character. When you are about to visit,leave hugo a message he will definitely bring you to see the best part of the island:)

Fantastic, flexible tour, well worth the early start! - I have been to Madeira several times before. I love the island. One of the things that was always on my wish list was to see the sunrise from one of the peaks. As someone who does not drive, this had always been difficult to arrange, and as I am not a great hiker, the sunrise hike trips that have been offered for the past few years were always not feasible. So I was delighted to find out that there are now sunrise tours to the peaks for people like me. Hugo picked me up at my accommodation in Santa Cruz, took me to the peak, then a coffee shop, then a short levada, then some other beauty spots I had never been to despite having joined numerous tours in the past... the sunrise tour was amazing, and Hugo a fantastic, flexible and friendly guide. This tour would have been great value at twice the price. I cannot recommend it enough.

The best taste of Madeira (in limited time) - This was one of the best trips I had ever taken. The ride was perfect, from the amount of breaks to the destination choice. The island in itself is a blast and this tour makes you fall in love from the first sight.

Lovely tour! - Great tour for someone short on time and don’t want to do the difficult hike. Hugo was very kind and knowledgeable. He did pre warn us due to the weather that a sunrise may not be visible. However due to time restrictions etc we still went ahead with the trip. Although we didn’t experience the magical sunrise, the views were still absolutely stunning. After a coffee,We then did a short, flat and easy walk called Balcoes at the Laurissilva forest, which was absolutely beautiful, and a quick visit to Santana. Overall an amazing tour and we had so much fun.

Amazing tour - Hugo is the best guide. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He picked us up (my daughter and I) at the agreed time from our hotel and drove us to the top where we could enjoy a peaceful and breathtaking sunrise between Pico do Arieiro and Pico Ruivo. Then Hugo showed us beautiful and secret places of Madeira which are definitely impossible to visit by bus. It was amazing to enjoy landscapes almost without tourists and pressure.
Hugo knows a lot about life in Madeira including curios historical facts and traditions, Absolutely amazing experience and would recommend to anyone!
