Leaving Fier at 9:00 in the morning, we will arrive at The Archaeological Site of Bylis in less than an hour. The ancient city of Bylis is situated along the Ballsh-Tepelen national road, merely 35 km from Fieri, 10 km from Ballshi, and 1.5 km from the heart of Hekal village. Established in the early years of the 4th century BC, the city soon became home to significant landmarks such as a fortified wall extending 2.2 km, 3.5 m wide and 9 m tall, encircling an area of 30 hectares. Bylis stands as a notable beacon of the Illyrian civilization. The city, founded in the 2nd to 1st century BC, had its own coins minted for the Bylin residents and the city, attesting to Bylis being the central city of the Bylin community which also encompassed the cities of Nikaja (present-day village of Klos, 1.5 km from Bylis), the Illyrian cities of Margëllić and Gurzezë and numerous ancient fortresses and settlements.
