- Monsaraz - Join us on this tour to discover the enchanting medieval village and castle of Monsaraz. We’ll start by picking up everyone at the Roman Temple in \’Evora, then embark on a scenic 45-minute drive to the historic village of Monsaraz. Upon reaching Monsaraz, we’ll embark on a leisurely stroll through the charming village, granting you the chance to capture memorable photos and wander through its alluring narrow lanes.
- Monsaraz Castle and Walls - Our next stop will be the magnificent Monsaraz Castle, where you’ll delve deeper into the history of the village. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. As the tour draws to a close, we’ll regroup near the town entrance to savor a glass of local wine while relishing the breathtaking views from the village walls.

Five stars! - I recently had the special pleasure of visiting Monsaraz with Iberian Heritage Tours. It is hard to imagine two more delightful people than Bianca and Gonçalo who own this business as well as host its tours. Not only are they delightful people, they are also archaeologists and able to add so much interesting information to what you are looking at. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Portugal, and I cannot recommend this tour company enough. (Next trip to Portugal: IHT trip to Marvao!:)

Windy but amazing! - The expertise of the guides are a great bonus to their cheerful personalities. We enjoyed every moment of the journey and the views from Monsarat are absolutely amazing. The winds were strong during our visit and given a nicer day we would have loved to enjoy some local food and drink.
This was a fantastic side trip from our main Evora destination.

Enjoyable and Educational Monsaraz Village and Castle Tour! - What an amazing tour! Bianca and Goncalo are very knowledgeable--answering all our questions and taking the time to explain anything and everything. They were on time, friendly and made sure we didn't feel rushed. Monsaraz is an amazing village and definitely worth taking the time to visit if you are in the area. Bianca and Goncalo made the village and castle so much more interesting (by giving us the historical facts, background, etc.) than if we walked around by ourselves. We would not hesitate to schedule another tour with Iberian Heritage Tours if we come back to the Alentejo region.

Friendly, flexible, knowledgeable, and individualized! Could not have been better! - What a tour! Bianca and Goncalo took me to so many wonderful places. They were so friendly and flexible (asking about my interest and tailoring the itinerary). As archeologists, fluent in English and Portuguese, they offered great information and explanations from ancient history to that of more recent centuries, as well as share about current life in Portugal. Very highly recommend!
