If you desire to behold the wondrous natural landscapes and engross yourself in Hungary’s medieval past, make sure to explore the Danube Bend! Our journey begins in Esztergom, the religious heartland of Hungary’s Catholic community. Here, we’ll tour the largest cathedral in the nation and be captivated by the splendid views of Slovakia across the river. Our expedition continues to Visegrád to admire the remnants of a medieval castle paired with breathtaking views over the Danube Bend. A three-course Hungarian lunch will also be part of the experience.
Szentendre, a charming artists’ town boasting a captivating Mediterranean ambiance, awaits us next. Founded by Serbs and Greeks in the 18th century, it is home to a mix of intriguing museums, orthodox churches, cafes, and restaurants. Following an enjoyable walk, there will be a chance for some free-time shopping. Between April and October, you may choose to voyage back to Budapest by boat if you’d like.
