A necessary visit to see the horrors of World War I up close - The monuments are very beautiful and discreet, as befits a place where hundreds of thousands of young people died in the First World War. The cemeteries are very well looked after. I had a rental car and was able to stop to enjoy the most interesting places.

Don't miss a visit to Canakkale and Hassle Free Travel tours! - Ezgi-The manager at Hassle Free Travel went out of her way to answer my questions, give me comparisons on tours, times, dates and costs. In addition she provided useful and helpful information on local bus times, ferry schedules, sights to see in Cannakale and restaurant/food selections to try. Very warm and professionally run operation. Our guide for The Gallipoli Tour was highly knowledgeable, very interested in the history, culture and religion of Turkey and willingly answered any questions we had with enthusiasm and a superior knowledge of his subjects. The trip included a delicious restaurant meal, ferryboat rides, minibus tour vehicle. We were given time (with no pressure ) to walk around sites, museums (which were amazing) and to take photos. I would highly recommend using Hassle Free Travel and a visit to the charming and lovely City of Canakkale. Steve C. Los Angeles, CA.

Apo’s professional & personal service - We had undertaken much planning with the help of relatives and the War Graves Commission to locate the place where our (great) grandfather fell in 1915. Our trip to Helles, Gallipoli was the culmination of this. Apo’s expertise and assistance exceeded our expectations and we were touched by his sensitivity in offering to play the Last Post as a mark of respect by the graveside. In excellent English, he conveyed to us in detail his knowledge of the area and its history, offering us the opportunity to visit several other relevant places of interest along the way. He was kind enough to see us on to the bus back to Istanbul the next day which was a helpful conclusion to our journey. Apo, aided by his driver Halil, is certainly a great asset to the company and we recommend them both highly. Many thanks for such a memorable trip! Mary & Ellen

A wonderful informative day with a very knowledgeable and interesting guide. - We are very interested in the Gallipoli battles. But also have an ancestor listed at Helles memorial. It was very moving to actually see the name carved in stone. We had a full tour of all the landing sights and memorials (Anzac, French, Turkish). They are beautiful places kept in pristine order by the Turkish people. Thank you for caring so much about the fallen of all sides of this terrible campaign. Our tour guide is obviously passionately interested in his subject, he spoke with such knowledge and compassion. At the end of the tour he asked if we had enjoyed the day and did we have any questions. We have come away feeling we have so many questions, mainly to find out how our relative died, but also to learn more in general. Thank you for opening our eyes and ears, I feel we will be back.
