Day trip to Howth and took a trip to Ireland Eye with Island Ferries - We went on a boat trip to Ireland's Eye to see the wildlife. We took the DART from Bray to Howh, so no stress with finding somewhere to park. It was a brilliant day out, perfect weather and friendly staff. We decided to get off the boat and spend some time on the Island which wa well worth it!! The views, the whole area, the beach were just lovely. We were hoping to see some puffins, but they had decided to leave before we got there. Will go earlier ealier next year and hopefully we will see them. We had some food in Howth when we got back. Lots of lovely places to eat, A great day out with the family, and not too far to travel.

Fantastic trip around Ireland's Eye - Really enjoyable trip around Ireland's Eye with Wayne & Harry. Engaging for children & adults alike (the Captain's cap was a particular hit with the kids). An abudance of grey seals & guillemots plus even a few puffins & caves on Ireland's Eye. Highly recommend.

Puffins - I threatened to be a grumpy old woman if I did not get to see a puffin. They produced! We were able to see 3 puffins swimming. It was beautiful and a check complete on the bucket list!

Great little ferry for nice views - Our plan was to use Ireland Eye Ferries but we were approached by Island Ferries before we had a chance to get to them. Due to a storm the night before, they didn’t let us onto the island, but the views were still fantastic of both the island and Howth, and we got close enough to see a ton of birds but sadly no Puffins. It was a great short 20-30 minute outing. TIP: sit on the starboard side towards the stern to be closer to the island for pictures My reasons for taking a star off — 1. We were directed to the boat that already had about 15 people figuring it was heading out, but then sat for about 20 minutes — got the impression the operator was trying to squeeze more people on before leaving 2. The ocean made the boat VERY rocky — made me and my husband nervous the entire time feeling we shouldn’t have been out there at all 3. We could hardly hear the captain through the speakers when he was pointing stuff out

Terrible - We booked this trip and I wished we had done more research. We spoke to the driver of the boat asking what we would see and how long. We would have needed binoculars to see the sea life which was so far away and we basically circled around and we were back in about a half hour, it was scheduled for 45min. . It was so disappointing, there is another company using orange boats go with them.

Frightening experience - This was my second year doing this tour. This trip was a Summer highlight last year. We went this week on a day that was lovely and sunny in Howth. When we got out there we landed on the back of the island -this was different to the previous year and was due to wind hitting the front of the island. Where we disenbarked the boat was a lot less maintained then I believe it should have been. We had young children with us and we climbed onto the rock steps and up to the grass area. We met some people on the island who were wondering how we had managed with the small kids. We decided to return to the mainland on the 3pm boat. We had an awful experience trying to reach where the boat pulled into. The landing area with railings was not accessible, so we had to climb across the rocks with children aged 1, 3, 5,8,10. We would not have managed to make it across into the boat except for the help of three members of the public who just happened to be getting the same boat back. They balanced across the rocks and we had to pass the small children across three people to get them safely to the boat. This was a frightening and completely unsafe situation. I am well used to doing physical activities with my children including hiking, sports etc but this was simply not safe. The crew of the boat did not help and I dread to think how we would have managed except for the help of these really kind empathic people. Another family on the boat were very shaken after the same experience as us. On the return boat trip to Howth mainland, the sea was choppy and boat seemed to be going far too fast for the conditions. The boat was bouncing on the waves and we were soaked from the amount of water we were splashed with. We had no life jackets on either trip to or back from the island. This was not enjoyable. Last year it was one of our most memorable summer days out. After yesterdays experience I would not recommend or do this trip again. We should have been advised not to get off with the children or there needs to be investment in making the area where you landing and board from a safe area for the travellers that pay for this experience.

Very dangerous - We booked irelands eye trip to the island to get off and then come back later. A small old boat pulled up that was very difficult to get in. We were crowded on and ensured that it was licensed to take 28 people. We were with three young kids. No life jackets were provided and it was very rocky. Without being told , we were dropped at the back of the island where there was a steep cliff/rock climb. It was beyond dangerous. Thankfully a gentleman that was travelling on the boat helped us. Then we decided to leave the island after an hour as the wind was picking up. there were 13 kids altogether and we had to climb down the steep rocks and hand children to two passengers at different points and then try and step into the boat. It was so so dangerous and the only reason nobody got hurt was due to the two very kind and helpful passengers. I therefore would not recommend this trip due to no proper information before it starts and because of how dangerous it was for both adults and children. For that price a proper boat should be used and information provided before hand.
