The excursion of Abu Dhabi City, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E), is situated on an island that is linked to the mainland via two bridges. The journey from Dubai to Abu Dhabi takes around 1 hour 45 minutes. En route, we’ll pass by the Jebel Ali Port, the world’s largest artificially built port, before reaching Abu Dhabi City.
Once we reach the Capital City, our initial stop will be the eighth largest Mosque in the world, followed by the Heritage Village. After that, we’ll drive by the gorgeous Corniche (BEACH), offering a chance to capture photos of the skyline and Breakwater Island. Next, we’ll swing by The Emirates Palace and the Presidential Palace. A lunch stop at the Marian Mall is included, post which, we’ll proceed to the Abu Dhabi Dates and Carpet Market. To conclude the trip, we’ll take a drive through Yas Island and pause for a photo session at Ferrari World.

Nive trip - We booked a day trip to Abu Dhabi. Everything went very good. They picked us up from the hotel at 9.30 a.m with a nice 7 seats car- our family and another 2 persons. The driver went to the places we wanted to visit and stayed there as long as we wanted. The tour included the Mosque, Emirates Palace, Corniche, Heritage Village, Dates market and Yas island; with a stop for lunch- in Marina Mall, as we wanted to meet somebody there. We came back at 7 p m.

Abu Dhabi Doesn’t Require a Full Day - Compared to Dubai, Abu Dhabi is dull. The grand mosque is wonderful but the former President’s Palace (now a Mandarin Oriental) is like a mausoleum. There are some interesting skyscrapers. After the mosque and palace, the tour loses energy as a succession of visits to a heritage park, date market and altogether pointless quick stop at Ferrari World leaves one wanting to get back to Dubai, an hour and a half away. The best part of the excursion was the group itself, a total of four plus the driver.

Not informative - Our tour guide provided no information at all, he was only doing driving. He was on a phone the whole drive back and forth. I was sitting behind him and was asking what we see on the left/right. Otherwise he didn’t share any information along the drive. Maybe it is my high expectations, but I wanted to hear some history of Abu Dhabi, facts, at least share information about what we see around. After the mosque, he took us to the other places on the itinerary and again no information was shared, only “you have 10-15 min to take pictures”. The art gallery he took us after the lunch, was a glamorized souvenir store where staff was trying to sell you things.
