Roman ruins with an expert - best hour we’ve spent these holidays! - Our tour was with Callum and he did an amazing job. He kept us intrigued with his stories and incredible depth of knowledge. He was very generous with his time and answered all our questions. The walk was interesting, easy to get around (we had a grandparent in our group and they managed with ease) and the experience gave us insights you won’t find in a guide book. Loved that the tour is led with someone dressed as a Roman soldier - added a bit of extra fun to the experience and the kids loved it. Highly recommend doing this tour. Awesome value for money and you get to spend time with a Roman expert while seeing the incredible ruins.

Excellent tour guide! - Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the Roman house, the surrounding area, and what it meant to be a Roman centurion. He was willing to pose for pictures and answered questions readily. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

Great Roman tour - Did this tour in September 2020. The tour was very detailed and Callum knew his stuff. There was a good variety of sites and some good additional information. The Roman military uniform was a wonderful addition, no surprise Callum knew all the details of its design and provenance. He also provided some information on other sites nearby.

Roman Dorchester walk - Excellent walking tour recommend to anyone ,but where were you?,happily for us we got a private tour as there was no one else booked, we had such a well informed and interesting guide, many interesting looks at we three as our guide was in full roman military costume throughout the walk of just over an hour,a gentle walk at a decent pace that would suit any age, ending at the roman town house. My regret was we couldn't get to the Roman cooking class but maybe next visit.

Fantastic Roman Tour of Dorchester With Callummus! - What a fantastic Roman Tour! We were greeted by Callummus in central Dorchester (he was very easy to spot!) and after exchanging the customary "Ave's" we continued on what was a fantastic tour of several remaining Roman parts of Dorchester that you would undoubtedly otherwise miss. Callummus was exceptionally knowledgeable- both about the remaining parts of Roman architecture as well as the day-to-day lives of the Romans in Dorchester and surrounds- he really managed to bring everything to life! My son (10) was particularly thrilled to be following a full dressed Roman soldier around Dorchester and he was enthralled to learn about how the city was defended. We loved learning about how the town lived and worked in Roman times, and the description of the Roman house had us imagining we were almost there ourselves. Great fun, interesting for both adults and children alike, very highly recommended!

All Hail Dorchester Roman Tours! - I booked this tour for a class of Year 3 children. It was brilliant! The guides marched down the street dressed as Romans to greet us. The children were so excited. We followed them to the top of town to learn about the Roman walls in Dorchester and then on to the Roman townhouse where we were greeted by other Romans - the family who lived in the house. The guides were very knowledgeable and pitched it exactly right for the children. They also took part in a shield wall activity which they loved. Timings were excellent - just long enough. A lot of thought and hard work had gone into making this an excellent learning opportunity which really brought history to life - the children were buzzing at the end. Callum and his team were awesome. Communication was also brilliant throughout. I will definitely book again for another class.

"Are you not entertained?!" We were!! - Booked after we saw a marching demonstration in the town. Guide was very knowledgeable, catered to children and adults all with limited prior understanding of Roman life. We came away with so much info! The guide's outfit, talks, and character was very impressive. Clearly a lot of research went into making it authentic to the history. Tour was just the right length to avoid sore feet and tired kids. Had no idea there was so much Roman history in Dorset until taking this tour.
