Highlights
  • Nieuwe Kerk - The new church houses the mausoleum of William of Orange, the founder of the Netherlands. The crypt of the royal family can also be found in this church. The church has recently been renovated and has become beautiful! The many stained glass windows are particularly worthwhile.
A guided tour of the church is available on request. Admission is not included.

  • Vermeer Centrum Delft - we will walk through the atmospheric center of Delft and see the places where Johannes Vermeer lived and worked.

  • Museum Prinsenhof Delft - During our walking tour we will walk along the Prinsenhof and see the statue of William of Orange in the courtyard. Your guide will tell you about William of Orange, the Father of the Fatherland.

  • Markt - The heart of the city where we see how Delft Blue is made and the master painter is at work. Here also the medieval trading center; such as the weigh house, the butter house, the meat hall and the fish banks.

  • Hofje van Pauw - via the courtyard of Grace to the Horse Market and the courtyard of Pauw

  • Old Church - The old church dates from the 13th century, making it the oldest church in Delft. Known for its leaning tower with the nickname ‘Leaning Jan’.
Johannes Vermeer, Piet Hein and Anthonie van Leeuwenhoek are buried in this church. A guided tour of the church is available on request. Admission is not included

  • Stadhuis van Delft (City Hall Delft) - The town hall located on the market opposite the Nieuwe Kerk is a beautiful building in the Neo-Renaissance style. Renovated by Hendrick de Keyser, who also made the mausoleum of William of Orange. If possible, we will take a look at the entrance hall, where it can still be clearly seen how earlier the judiciary took place. The oldest tower in Delft, Het Steen, is also located here. This tower served as a prison and the murderer of William of Orange was also locked up here.

  • Beestenmarkt - A cozy square with many terraces where you can relax all year round.

  • Oostpoort - The only remaining city gate of Delft. A unique photo spot!

  • Klaeuwshofje - The Hof van Klaeuw was founded by the owners of the brewery ‘de Klaeuw’ in 1605. The houses are inhabited by unmarried Roman Catholic women. The courtyard is an oasis of peace and a surprise behind the gate.

Beautiful City with Lots of History - We enjoyed our day trip to Delft and could have spent a another day roaming the streets, visiting the museums, and sampling the numerous bakeries and restaurants the city has to offer. Yvette met us soon after we arrived by train and provided an in-depth overview of Delft's interesting history and the overall impact it has had on the Netherlands. We couldn't have hoped for a better guide. Yvette was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond by providing recommendations for additional sites to see across the Netherlands and how to make the most of our day trip to Delft.

Highlight of our Trip - Yvette gave us a tour of Delft that was more than we could have hoped for. The pace was perfect as she showed us the sights and shared their history with us including the new church, monuments, and pointed out snippets of history in the streets and walls throughout Delft without missing a beat. She took us to the Delftware artists and local shops we could try cheese, herring, licorice and stroopwaffel; she also gave us wonderful food and drink recommendations to explore on our own after our tour. Yvette gave us opportunities to ask questions and tailor the experience to what we were looking for. She offered group photos at special spots we wouldn’t have otherwise noticed that are now lasting memories. She was passionate and knowledgeable about her home and it was apparent. We felt so lucky to have her guide us through Delft. Her tour was a top highlight of our trip and the best tour we took of our various bookings throughout the region.

quaint get away - This was an excellent tour. In a short time, our guide gave us an excellent concise overview of Delft. She took us to an independent pottery maker that showed us the process of making Delft pottery. She also advised us of excellent places for dinner and advised us on our train connection to Delft from Amsterdam. I highly advise this tour. Delft is a quaint little quieter get away from Amsterdam

Lovely tour in a lovely city - Such a wonderful experience. I learned a lot about Delft and our guide, Dick, told us interesting and fascinating historical facts starting from the 16th century till recent days. We were all captured by his simple, clear explanations and his enthusiasm. I could point at anything around me and he could tell me a story about it. I will never forget what I learned that day. Good weather made the tour even nicer. I highly recommend it.

A fun morning, KLM miniatures in real! - We had a fun morning strolling through Delft with our guide Yvette. She showed us many historic places including some of the houses that made it to a KLM miniature. Some of them we hardly recognized 😉. We also visited the New Church where we saw many features that without guide we had never seen/understood. We ended up at a nice place for lunch and had various sweets on our way!
