Food and History all in one. - This tour was amazing. My tour guide was Cristian. He is a National Tour Guide with loads of knowledge and facts. We had different juices with information on health benefits in case you have any. The food was great and prepared with care by the vendors. So delicious and so much to eat even the smallest portions. I recommend starting the tour ready to eat. I started this tour as a tourist and ended with a go to friend when in Equador!

Lots of history and great foods. - The tour was excellent. Christian is the best tour guide. A wealth of knowledge and facts about the entire country as well. The foods we tried were never questionable. Simply delicious and as a suggestion, begin this tour ready to eat.

We highly recommend this tour! - Cristian was absolutely amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about Ecuadorian culture, history and food. We had such a great experience trying many different street foods and at small local restaurants, most of which we would never have tried by ourselves. If you want an authentic Ecuadorian experience then I would highly recommend this tour! It is one of the best tours we’ve ever done!

Best Way to Discover Cuenca - Our group booked a private tour and were treated to a fabulous evening around Cuenca with our guide, Cristian. He was knowledgeable, showed us fantastic spots around the city and taught us not only about the food, but the history, architecture and culture. Would absolutely recommend 10/10, it’s a great way to explore the city.

Flávio was a great guide - We had a great tour with Flávio who was a very knowledgeable guide. He encouraged us to taste a ton of local food and told us all about it. We loved hearing about life in Cuenca as well as the history of the city. The only thing I would say is it’s probably best to do in the day as more street food stands will be open but we still had a great time. Thank you Flávio!

Bonsai hits the mark. - A surprise. The Cuencan restaurant scene is slowly recovering from Covid. There is no finer example of this than a new Japanese restaurant called Bonsai. It brings a Lima level of this cuisine to our little town. The dishes are varied and extremely well presented. They have a choice of Ramen noodle dishes that are varied and wonderful. Service is fast. It brings Japanese cuisine to a new height here.

Yummy!!! - Due to some confusion, we had Eddy for both the day/ historic tour as well as the food tour. Which was fantastic because there was so much to see, do, and eat and because Eddy was so knowledgeable and fun! We went to the market which is unbelievable! We had different kinds of fruit and sampled some of the street food. We also had wonderful artisan chocolate, and though we didn’t eat it on the tour, Eddie arranged for us to have cuy in the best place in Cuenca the next night. Believe it or not, one of the best things we had was a hot dog. But it’s not just any hot dog. They take their hot dogs seriously, and even if you’re a skeptic, just try it. You can thank me later!

Great way to explore the city and its food - We had a fabulous guide Flavio he gave us so much information on the city and it's history my head was buzzing, in a good way. We started in the market with some amazing freshly made fruit juices accompanied by some local food one of which we liked and the other I would ten as interesting , but that is what food tours are about trying something you wouldn't normally eat! Flavio gave as an insight into the French influence on food and bread and how it came about, he also gave photo tips and my iPhone photography has improved considerably, we explored the key locations and the architecture and history A highlight was the visit to the Panama hat factory, we had planned to go on our own, but this was so much better as Flavio brought it alive and we now understand why a hat can be a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, the view from the coffee shop on the top floor is also something to see. We stopped for sweets as well , which were delicious , I did buy a couple more :) there was a delicious coffee stop as well. I would recommend this tour as a great starting point to get a feel for the city and it's food, we did it on our first morning .
