Perfect for customizing your own tour! - Our guide Michael was amazing. Having the tour customized to our needs was perfect! No rushing around, he took us to all the hot spots we wanted to go, from zip line, to locals restaurants, Rum making, chocolate making, petting the animals! It was all perfect! Michael was great in Customer service, and very knowledgeable, he took the time to understand our wants and he delivered with a smile while answering questions about the Island we would ask!

tour guide was great and flexible - The tour guide was flexible as soon as we got into the van. We set our itinerary in the van to remove a couple places and add a couple new ones. Tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable about the stops and the country. My only complaint is something the tour guide can't control - the beach. The famous beach was so overcrowded we couldn't get chairs initially. We had to stand around for 20 minutes. This is not the tour guide's fault but please be aware that if there are multiple cruise ships in port the popular beaches will be overcrowded. Try to ask for a less popular beach.

A family vacation saved and a memory for a lifetime for all of us thanks to Joel! - We booked an excursion for our cruise stop via the internet with Viator.com, with Roatan Adventure Tours, for the Customizable Best of Roatan Island Tour in Honduras. We looked forward to an interesting adventure that would be flexible for our family and party consisting of 8 people from youthful 10 years old, to elderly 80 years of age. The adventure that we received was more than we possibly could have hoped for, and it was mostly due to our tour guide Joel! First however, I wanted to say how far the people of the Isle of Roatan in general, the individuals at the port transportation, and especially Joel went out of their way to help us, were gracious and kind, and helped make our vacation dreams come true. After leaving our ship and walking through the port, the people were very helpful in directing us to the location that our driver and bus was supposed to be and when we, through our own ignorance could not find our bus and driver, they continued to help us until they found the correct excursion company and eventually led us to Joel and Roatan Adventure Tours. At that time however, it was found out that I had made a very bad mistake and booked the adventure for the following day not the day we were there. Much saddened by my error and our party of 8 daunted by what we should do, Joel saved our vacation, and said that he would arrange for it to happen anyway. He then became our driver for that day and made it a day that our family will remember forever. He took us to a zip line adventure / sloth, bird and animal viewing site, then to a wonderful beach and lunch location in which after seeing some people parasailing on the open water, he arranged for a portion of our party to go parasailing with another vendor that was also very easy to work with given his assistance. Once we were finished with our time at the beach, he returned us to the cruise port terminal with plenty of time for our older party members to make it to the ship without issue. I truly cannot express enough how grateful we are for Joel’s specific help and wonderful company for our vacation day. I highly recommend anyone take this adventure as the price is absolutely worth the services that we received. Sincerely, all of us from Montana and Texas, thank you Joel!

Wonderful day at Roatan - We had a wonderful day with Gordon who showed us a lot of beautiful and exciting places. The pick-up at the cruise terminal was in time and easy to find. Gordon was very friendly and told us many interesting facts. We got definitely more than we expected! Thanks Gordon- your country is so beautiful and fascinating!

Great tour with local guide! - Such a great time with a wonderful local man (wish I could remember his name)! He took us ALL over the island, including some areas known only to locals. Visited really GOOD "tourist" places, such as the Roatan Rum Company. Took us to a wonderful local seafood restaurant for lunch right on the beach. He was so interesting, telling us all about local culture, the schools, families, etc etc. And HOURS with just my husband and me at such a reasonable cost. Highly recommend!!

What a WONDERFUL Day with an Awesome tour guide - Our family had a truly wonderful day with our awesome tour guide, Ron! He showed us local shopping, beautiful views, monkeys & sloths, picked a great restaurant on the beach where we had a wonderful lunch and so much more. He was so friendly and made everyone welcomed! This is a beautiful island, and he was so proud to share his home with our family. When we return, we will be asking for him again for sure. Don't hesitate to use this service and make sure to ask for Ron.

Great island experience. - Michael did a great job for us. He was excellent, very knowledgeable, articulate, and friendly. One of the better excursions we have been on. A bit hard to find since they have to meet one fully outside the port, so you have to walk up and down the exit road with nothing telling where to go. But just as they told us in their FAQs, he was waiting when we finally found where he was. Highly recommended.

Private driver recommended!!!! - It was fairly easy to find this company and to get our private driver. I wouldn’t want to visit this country without a driver. He let us plan what we wanted to see. He helped us to the main area to do an amazing zip line that was perfect for our family as first timers and smaller children. He also sent us to the wildlife zoo with our own personal guide. We then got into his van and rice around the island. He spoke about a private beach and a public beach. We had semi decided to do the public beach since we didn’t have that much time after driving around the island and traffic. But instead he drove us to the private beach first where we had to pay $20 a person to enter for only a few short hours. We technically paid the $80 to also pay high dollar to eat at a restaurant to be given a small beach front- where we didn’t have enough time to enjoy. Jerald was a great driver and knew the cultural and the island very well. We had a very good day overall. I did feel a little rushed at the end to get back on the boat. As we had a different time zone from our ship than the island time. I feel as though we would have missed the boat departure if I hadn’t of been panicking about the time and kept telling him how many minutes we had remaining until our boat departed. I would def recommend this company and a private driver. I could t imagine trying to get around this country with 1 road and trying to get the most out of the day trip.

OK experience! - It was memorable to see the sloths, monkeys, parrots, boa constrictors and greenery of the island. However, the traffic was horrible and there is garbage EVERYWHERE on Roatan. Not very impressive. Our driver was very personable. We only got to see about half of what we wanted to thanks to the crowded conditions and bad traffic. (It was Spring Vacation).
