Additional Information

Teide National Park is a prime spot for sunset viewing in Tenerife. In 2013, recognition was received from the Starlight Foundation as it was designated both a Starlight Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve, sparking increased interest from tourists with a passion for astronomy. As a result, Tenerife has since become a hotspot for star gazers from different corners of the world. Teide National Park’s low light pollution levels, coupled with its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sets it as an optimal location for observing the beauty of the night skies with a myriad of stars and constellations. Efforts to preserve these viewing conditions are reflected in a special legislation that has been implemented in Tenerife, which controls flight routes and manages the level of light pollution within the park’s borders. Situated at a height of 2000 meters, we will trace the constellation patterns identified by generations before us and their most luminescent stars. We will also utilise high-powered telescopes in our observation.

Great stargazing experience - Ozzi was a brilliant guide whose passion for astronomy made the experience very enjoyable. The tour was well organised and good refreshments were provided. The coach was comfortable and driver excellent. Ozzi also showed how to use an iPhone for astronomical photography. All around excellent.

Star hailing experience with Ozzie - This trip was amazing due to 1 man OZZIE! His enthusiasm is infectious and his language knowledge amazing. Ozzie created the most perfect experience. He explained so much about stars and planets that I never new. This trip is a must for anyone who wants an entertaining night out and wants to see and learn about our solar system. Yes it’s just a few hours but very worthwhile. Ozzie 10/10

This is INCREDIBLE - Wow. Just wow!!! 🤩 Ozzy the guide was absolutely incredible. Extremely knowledgeable and funny. The stars were PHENOMENAL. The telescopes OUTSTANDING. This is a must see. The pictures I have don’t do it justice. The history of this island. Incredible.

Tenerife stars. - Sunset amazing and star gazing great. Food was awful and I felt 60 plus people to 1 guide 'Ozzi 'and 3 telescopes could be improved. I would recommend the star gazing experience but with a smaller group and maybe eat before you go.

Disappointing - The visit was cancelled, communication with the fatal company took more than 24 hours to respond to a WhatsApp in which they asked to confirm the time and location. They never picked up the phone. A shame because I'm sure that with another company it would have been better for us.

Could have been so much better! Lies and headlights… - The sky was stunning, the patter less so. He told a quite a few lies wrapped up in truths… ‘it isn’t the size of the group that will limit us tonight, it’s the sky, so I can only show you four things tonight’ . While it is true that the sky shows only a small fraction of the total at any one point, there was 20+ things he could have shown us, so yes it is the three telescopes between 70 people that limited it. ‘ Andromeda isn't up at the moment’… (I point at it) ‘oh it isn’t high enough in the sky’ don't talk rubbish! Also if you are in to astronomy you may be disappointed by what he shows you… you don’t go to an international dark sky to see the two brightest things in the night sky! Finally, why set up on the main road?! Eyes take 20 minutes to fully adjust to the dark, which was impossible with the cars passing! To sum up, the sky is worth it, and if it’s you only way to go up Teide at night then go for it, but otherwise drive yourself up and pull up somewhere off the road!

A disappointing excursion - The excursion is very poorly thought out. There is no point in offering a meal at a restaurant if you want to eat quickly and end up missing the sunset. This is worth 0. Then when we got back in the vehicle to go to the star observation point, we saw a sea of clouds with the orange colors of the sun, this could have made up for the missed sunset but no, we didn't. stopped even though it was truly magical as the excursion sold it. Finally, we were able to observe a clear sky for the stars but unfortunately there were only 6 French people in the group, the guide spoke harshly that for the Italians, this made the experience mediocre. We only looked through the telescope 3 times, that's not much... so in short, rent a car and do your experience yourself, it's better than tourist excursions with 50 people and poorly organized.

Little professionalism - They have left us without a reservation, they have given us different excuses, from the fire, seeing that the previous week they had taken a tour, passing through the Dana of the peninsula and that it had not been noticed on the islands or a computer problem. Thank you that we contacted them a day before asking about the time and meeting point. If not, I have my doubts if they would have contacted us. Of course...they never tired of offering the new moon special 2 weeks before the reservation. We understand that it is an activity that depends on the weather, but not contacting us and making every possible excuse seems unprofessional to me.
