Escorted Walking Journey of Cobh - Titanic Trail

In service every day since 1998, this one-hour leisurely exploration of the historic town of Cobh uncovers the rich and diverse past of Cork harbour, its surroundings, and the beautifully preserved architectural landscape. The compelling narrative combines the miraculous maritime, emigrant and social history of the region. Cobh was the principal exit point for millions of Irish emigrants to the US. It was also the final docking point for the RMS Titanic, and it welcomed the victims and survivors of the Lusitania disaster during World War I. Across many eras, invasions, departures, entries and usage of the port by various cultures have spun an intriguing narrative that promises to captivate and engage tourists regardless of their personal interests. Developed by the acclaimed Dr Michael Martin, this tour promises to gift you novel understandings and absorbing revelations about global histories in the context where they unfolded.

Great Day in Cobh - The tour was so interesting and well-paced! Pat, our guide, was enthusiastic about his topics and his narrative was easy to follow as well as complete. We particularly appreciated that when the group moved from place to place Pat would wait until we had all gathered around him again before continuing to talk. That was especially necessary when we tackled the hill to St. Colman's Cathedral! He also helped us take an easier route back to the main tour area and recommended a terrific lunch.

Great again - We first took this tour 2 years ago with Maureen and wanted take it again with her, but Dennis led our group. Both were great. You will like this simple but informative walking tour. It is hilly though up to the cathedral.

Worth it - We enjoyed ourselves. The price is right for this tour, as it’s not the longest walk or duration. Our tour guide was very sweet and explained the history of the area quite well.

Good Guide/Poor Audio System - The guide was very knowledgeable but unfortunately we couldn't hear what he saying most the time, especially when we were walking between stops. Also, this tour was supposed to include admission to the museum but it wasn't open. Maybe you should give a refund/reduction to us for this tour!
