Garden Lovers - For garden lovers, this is one of the largest plant collections in the world with 9,000 species of native and foreign plants. You will visit the orchid garden, medicinal plants section, carnivorous plants, Japanese garden, Amazon section. As the park is extensive, you can tour it in free golf carts and you can take them at the different stations in the park.

A morning in nature - I am a final student of the Tourist Guide course. We had it in Floresta da Tijuca on 05/11/2024 as part of first aid training on the trail, when I made these records. I'm a professional photographer too.

A day in nature - The gardens are magnificent, and so was the forest. The guide (Gabriela) was very nice and acomodating, answering everyone's questions. A great trip that I recomend to everyone who enjoys nature walks, and a bit of history.

Rio Botanical Garden - Very beautiful botanical garden located in the heart of Rio. It was a very hot day so being among these trees was a bit of a relief. The garden is divided into different parts so that you get a good overview of the differentiation in fauna and flora of Brazil. Minus: you can only pay entrance cash, so bring some coins......

Tour was NOT about the forest. - The few locations we were able to see were nice. Unfortunately, the tour became a tour of only the gardens and not the Tijuca forest! The narrator and guide was very nice, but I paid to go see the Tujica forest and the forest was closed. Why did the tour guide not contact the park to see if it was open? It was not raining yet it was closed. Very disappointing and would actually like a refund. I paid to get a walking tour of the forest as opposed to the other tours which required jeeps.
