Absolute must! - I booked the tour through TripAdvisor n I am glad I did because I had such a wonderful experience! The drive to Kandy from Colombo is about roughly 3-4 hours depending on your itenary. Pasindo my chauffeur cum guide reported sharp at 6.30 a.m at the hotel for my trip. Since i couldn't have breakfast so early in the morning Pasindo stopped enroute at a local diner/restaurant for a buffet bf and water/snacks. Along the route Pasindo explained to me the USPs of each place and what they were famous for such as known for their pineapple produce, cashew production, local mask and crafts production etc. Our first pitstop was the Pinnawala elephant orphanage where we saw the elephants heading to the river for their bath. Next we stopped at the Spice Garden where a demonstration of local spices and herbs endemic to Sri Lanka and especially used in Ayurveda was shown. Buying products is voluntary but I did buy some medicines for my sinus and migraines. Best part about this is the complimentary foot massage I got ! The next stop was a stop at the tea factory.... A good presentation and tour of how Ceylon tea is produced was given. One has the option of buying premium Ceylon tea as well. It was already noon time by the time we reached Kandy after these tours and so I had lunch at around 1 pm at the well known Oak way hotel. I had a sumptuous lunch at a table facing the grand Mahue river. After this we headed to the Temple of Sacred Tooth wherein a detailed guided tour of the temple premises was provided. Unfortunately because of the afternoon timings I couldn't view the inner sanctorum where the original tooth relic is kept. After presenting my offerings at the temple we headed for a quick tour of Kandy Lake....by this time the Weather Gods had become impatient and it started pouring cats and dogs. Due to this and since it was getting dark i couldn't explore any more of Kandy city and headed back to Colombo. This tour is well structured and one gets a chance to experience the diferent socio cultural aspects of Sri Lanka.Though the pitstops are obvious sales pitches the option to buy is voluntary. Pasindo was very cordial and gracious all through the trip and ensured my comfort and interests were taken care of during the entire trip. All in all highly recommended 👍

Unforgettable experience, excellent customer service - I contacted the tour company after my original company let me down to arrange an excursion for the following morning. Dimuth was able to save the day by arranging a full tour within a few hours. He was very accommodating, professional and easy to speak to. The tour guide went beyond the call of duty and adapted our day according to our changing needs. He put all of his heart and soul into making sure we had the best experience. The tour guide even added items to the agenda which took the overall tour at least four hours after the allotted time. We went to the Elephant Orphanage, the Spice and Herbal garden, Tea fields and factory and The Tooth Relic Temple. At each stop, Dimuth ensured there was a tour guide with expert knowledge to ensure we got the most of the experience. The tour started at 06:30 and we lasted until 22:00. We used the same operator for the remainder of our stay and were not let down. Highly recommend

Kandy Day Tour - The tour guide was friendly & flexible on start time since this was a private tour & we arrived late previous night in Colombo. We went to Elephant Orphanage, Kandy & Tooth Relic Temple. The tour guide also took us to Spice Market which was a waste of our time since it seemed to be a way to con tourists into buying expensive ayurvedic herbal medicines otherwise available everywhere, the prices were 3 times here! The guide also took us to a mediocre lunch spot which is where all tour buses were stopping by for buffet lunch. The meal was also finished by the time we got there. At the Buddha temple, we got a temple guide who apparently only shows to diplomats & was free that day for a tour. He also was expecting crazy tip for narrating the story of Buddha. Overall the trip could have been better, the best part was the elephant orphanage which was not on the itinerary and we requested to visit.
