Lots to fit into one day but worth it - Really interesting day, that includes an excellent buffet lunch (try the devilled chicken).
First part was the mangrove river cruise, really enjoyed this, saw lots of birds (kingfishers, owls), crocodiles, river monitors, fruit bats and monkeys.
The guide was excellent, pointing out everything and seeing things way before we spotted them.
Next part was to the Buddhist temple and then to the turtle sanctuary, (be aware they are expecting tips so have some small change with you)
Mask museum was just ok, not really what we were in to and the tour guide in there looked totally disinterested.
Next stop was the Tsunami museum, very sad and also very interesting talking with the woman and what she is doing in the local community to help people even now.
Then it was on to Galle fort, interesting to walk around and not crowded.
Last stop before lunch was the stilt fishermen, interesting to see how they used to fish.
Finally was lunch (excellent).
Can’t recommend Bentota travel mart and Dinesh enough.

Very strong experience - We enojoyed the whole day trip, but the river safari was for us the highlight of the day. Our river guide Harinda was very nice, very skillfull in finding the animals and explaining the jungle stuff. His excitement about the local nature and ability to describe the nature relations made it an unforgetable experience!

Beautiful day of discoveries - Great day of discoveries of all kinds
Departing from Kalutara we first took a slow boat ride on the river and in the mangrove where we could see different animals
Then different stops - visits to Galle where we were able to walk - visit the fort as we wanted,
The included meal was good (buffet)

Recommended day trip - River safari on the Kaluganga, went on a boat trip through the mangrove jungle and saw lots of animals, including crocodiles. Several museums about handicrafts, a very moving tour through the tsunami museum, up close with the animals in the turtle rescue center, Galle and the huge fortress, pretty alleyways in the city, nearby stilt fishermen show off their skills.

Brilliant tour with great guide! - Such a fun day touring galle and surrounding area. We got to see so much, and our guide was so lovely. Particularly loved the safari and turtle conservation, we saw so much cool wildlife!

Mind-blowing - What an amazing trip that was. I had my 5 year old with me and he had a blast, too. From start to finish. The safari trip is just mind-blowing and the rest of the activities, too. So many things to see and experience. Thanks to Benton’s Travel Mart, I didn’t have to think of anything- just ride along and enjoy. They are super punctual, they pay attention to details and go above and beyond to meet your expectations and fulfill extra wishes and demands. Highly highly recommend them. Don’t even think twice. We had a blast! Thank you, Sam and everyone!

Great trip - Just got back from a great day out at Galle, with the river safari, sea turtle sanctuary etc. our driver was Dinesh & he was lovely- so helpful and efficient. I didn’t catch the name of our river guide but he was also so nice, so knowledgable about the river and the mangroves, great at spotting hidden animals & a welcome provider of coconut water and pineapple in the middle of our trip. I’d also like to say a huge thank you to the men at the precious stones shop, who were so kind & helpful when our daughter suddenly didn’t feel well. Thoroughly recommend this trip. Sam is very attentive and communicates well via WhatsApp, ensuring that you know exactly what is happening when.

Excellent Experience - We had an amazing day starting with Boat Safari in Bentota River and ended up with stilit Fishermen. Everything is very interesting and River Safari is the highlight of the Trip.

Interesting tour - Nice experience, we saw a lot of museums and Galle city. The best one was river safari in the morning. It was a pretty long tour so its a bit tiring but nice. Our driver Dinesh was really good and friendly. Thank you.
