Fascinating tour - Renan is an amazing tour guide! His tour was absolutely fascinating, he gave an in depth and detailed history of Coimbra and Portugal, with enthusiasm. I arrived to the tour early but Renan was happy to talk to me whilst we waited for the others in the group to arrive. He was very generous with his time and put a lot of effort into his tour.

Terrific walking tour of Coimbra - We did a walking tour of Coimbra with Renan and enjoyed it thoroughly. He is working on a Ph.D. in history and is a great guy with an encyclopedic knowledge of Portuguese history. We loved seeing the sights and, at the same time, learning about why things were built, who built them, who fought over them, and who won. He made the history come to life. Coimbra is a beautiful and interesting city and we feel lucky to have had Renan as our guide.

Interesting introduction to the history of Portugal - Met our guide in front of the University. He was very knowledgeable and excited to share the history of the University and Portugal. Fascinating stories about the founding of the college. After viewing the stunning library we went into the city and learned about a few of the oldest churches. The tour concluded in the heart of the city, a great area to explore on our own.

History Comes Alive !! - The history of the University and the city as told by a present day student guide was interesting and memorable. Bernardo has an immense knowledge base and he is very proud of his city. He was very eloquent in delivering the facts and plausible stories. A guided tour is a must to fully understand the economical, political and social norms of the time.
