This excursion is tailor-made for thrill-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts. We will spend the day immersed in the splendor of nature, rappel down to the entrance of a fascinating cave, and explore the awe-inspiring Bombil Pek Caves.
Situated in Chisec county within the Alta Verapaz Department, the Bombil Pek Caves are approximately two hours away from the heart of Coban. Discovered in 1972 but not opened to the public until 2002, this stunning cave system is managed by the El Porvenir community. They supply all essential equipment to ensure this journey will be a memorable one.
- Entrance to the caves is not recommended for people with claustrophobia or fear of the dark
- Access to the cave is through a fairly small hole in the rock wall so it is not recommended for people with overweight
- Rappelling is not recommended for people with vertigo or fear of heights. if this is your case, we will go down through wooden stairs.
