Highlights
- Sumner Beach (Cave Rock) - After being picked up by your private guide in an SUV, head to Sumner Beach for hot drinks at our local seaside suburb. Sit out on the deck admiring the ocean and Cave Rock.
- Taylors Mistake - Awaroa / Godley Head Walk - A beautiful black sand surf beach, with quaint little baches is the starting point of our walking track. Your guide will provide walking poles, bags, lunch, snacks and water before you set off.
- Godley Head - Walk around the stunning Godley Head, undoubtedly one of Chrsitchurch’s most beautiful walks. This 8 km loop track will take around 3 hours walking, with lots of time to stop and enjoy the scenery.
It is a well-established track, full of history and beautiful coastal views. You will see Scott’s Hutt, an Antarctic Cabin, WW2 Gun Emplacements, a penguin colony, and visit Boulder Bay, a quaint beach accessible only by foot, where you will enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch.
Note: The remaining time is for the round tour and time spent sightseeing or explorations.
Take the day at your own pace with your own private guide, and return to the city in time for dinner.

Amazing Crater Rim Walk with Nicole! - Our Crater Rim walk with Nicole was awesome. The views are spectacular, her knowledge of the trail and the history of Christchurch was great to learn. She supplied everything needed to complete the walk such as backpack, poles, and snacks! Would absolutely do another walk with her company again.

Great Guide , great Itinerary, spectacular scenery and very good value. - The most spectacular and enjoyable Walk/Hike round the beautiful Crater rim.
Hosted by Nicole who was incredibly professional, kind and considerate as well as being a font of knowledge about local history, the Geographic rock formations and local wild life.
Starting with a lovely coffee and brief description of the walk , we did a long hike in very manageable stretches at our own pace with a brief snack break and lovely picnic lunch , prepared and supplied by the company. The provision of walking poles and complimentary Drinks flask were most welcome and appreciated.
Couldn’t praise highly enough.

Awesome walk near Godley head - This was the perfect start to our NZ trip! 8km walk with about 900 ft of elevation change. Beautiful views, flowers, sheep, great picnic lunch on a rocky beach and a knowledgeable guide. The views were amazing!

Enjoyable hike and beautiful views! - Our crater walk was fantastic! Nicole picked us up from our lodge and off we went. She shared some history with us during the drive as well as during the walk. Loved the story behind Taylors Mistake! The views were amazing and honestly, the photos I took don't do it justice. High recommend for sure if you're in Christchurch! Thx so much Nicole!

New Zealand at it’s best! - We enjoyed this tour immensely! Fraser was a fountain of knowledge. He walked at a pace to allow us to experience the mind-blowing scenery. Snacks, fresh fruit and lunch were provided. We would highly recommend this tour for people who are wanting to experience the real New Zealand!! Epic walk around the ancient crater rims on the outskirts of Christchurch with epic views of Lyttelton harbour. - Our guide Nicole Ellwood was superb! She picked us up promptly at the arranged hour and was informative, entertaining and fun all day! We would have never found this epic walk on our own, she has unique local knowledge and is a pleasure to spend time with. Highly recommended! We traversed the ancient crater rim surrounding the caldera of a long extinct volcano just 30 minutes outside of Christchurch. We were able to take in the amazing views of the rugged Pacific coastline stretching across Pegasus Bay to the snow covered Southern Alps, with amazing views of Lyttelton harbour and wide expanses of the Pacific Ocean.

Beautiful Day Hike - We had such a beautiful day hiking the crater rim with Nicole. She was so incredibly knowledgable, not just about the walk and the geography, but the history as well. My ever curious husband did his best to stump her with his questions, but she never failed to answer whatever was thrown at her.
We were fortunate to have the weather on our side and with each turn we were rewarded with incredible vistas. Lunch was lovely and Nicole found the perfect spot for our picnic.
For a couple of old folks, we're in pretty decent shape, and Nicole challenged us appropriately.
New Zealand is stunning and this walk more than highlighted the beauty of Christchurch. Totally recommend!

Unique and personalised guided walking experience not to be missed - Incredible experience. The walk was perfectly matched for my level of ability and included some wonderful sites around Crater Rim. Nicole was a brilliant guide, professional and friendly. While the weather may not have been sun and blue skies, the walk and Nicole's company was well worth it. So glad I was able to see a side of Christchurch that many others miss out on. Pick up from my AirBnB also made the morning so much easier. Would love to come back again. Highly recommend!
