A wonderful days birding - We had a great days birding with Subbu who is a very knowledgeable and personable birder. Subbu phoned the night before the trip to check if we had binoculars etc and what types of birds we wanted to see so tailored the day to meet our requirements. He brought his spotting scope so we were able to get some great close views of the more distant birds. I also asked if we could go out early before it became too hot and he duly obliged, arranging for a taxi to collect us from the hotel before the temperature hit 30 degrees. I’m a fairly experienced UK birder but this was my first time out and about in Chennai and it didn’t disappoint as we clocked up over 70 species in a few hours including spotted eagle, 3 kingfisher species, 3 bittern species, bee eater, roller, golden oriole, fulvous whistling ducks and spotted owlets. Subbu also has a very keen ear and was constantly identifying calls for us. I would thoroughly recommend a birding trip and will definitely go again when the opportunity presents itself.

Ticking off one new experience in life- Bird Watching! - "I must say, this was truly one of the best experiences of my life. I had never been birdwatching before. When they mentioned that we would be accompanied by an expert, we were hopeful for a great experience. It happened to be my wife's birthday, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Amidst the chaos of the city, they took us to a beautiful spot, guiding us through some exquisite birds. Just by observing them, a sense of calmness washed over our minds. The experience was further elevated when we began to listen to the sounds of those birds. 3rd Feb 2024 - The guide Mr. Subramaniam was excellent. He taught me about identifying birds calls. If not for him, I wouldn't have scored 5. The tour was advertised at 6000 INR, however they charged me 10500INR. Promised a SUV but sent me on a Taxi. They were prompt in collecting the money. After that the treatment changes. Mr. Subramaniam was a through gentleman!

Excellent trip and excellent guide - An excellent morning bird-watching with Subramanian Sankar. We had booked this trip as we had limited time in Chennai. The guide took us to two lakes and whilst we had binoculars he had brought a scope which proved to be very useful in seeing some of the birds on the opposite side of the lake. We would not have seen as many birds without Subramanian Sankar and we would certainly not have identified all the birds we saw. If we return to Chennai in the future we would certainly book another trip with this guide.

Highly Recommended Birding - Great Guide - The guide was excellent and really knows his birds. Without such an experienced guide we would have been able to identify far fewer birds in the time available. The driver was safe and careful.

nature at its best - wow what a great experience. i could not believe such an experience right in Chennai. the guide was my hero. amazing skill. we seen 63 species of birds. his heart for birding was unmatched. I will never forget it

A great experience with a true pro! - I am new to birding and booked this guide to learn about the birds of Tamil Nadu. It was a great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone - experienced pros, photographers, or those who are just starting out and curious, like me. Subu bought a great telescope and two sets of binoculars. The scope was high powered where I could see great detail of the eyes and feathers. He taught me about the calls of many birds and took me to two areas of the marshland. The part I enjoyed most was watching his kindness to others - there was a young couple watching us and he went over to explain about the birds, let them look through the scope, and offered to me the young man again to explain about the birds. That kind of passion is what builds a healthy birdwatching community by welcoming and bringing in new people. It’s not often a tour gets booked with such an accomplished professional - Subu records bird calls for international databases. It was a great time and I’m glad it worked out.

Flamingo bird watching trip - It was a wonderful trip for a day away from city and to watch the flamingo birds and many other birds with a passionate birdwatcher. The trip was well organised by keyterns and had a plenty of learning to carry back home!
