So cool this Mahjong course! - What an excellent idea to introduce this typical Chinese game to Chengdu visitors. Before arriving in Chengdu, communication with Ocean from ChilliCoolChina was very clear, fast and smooth. Our plane was delayed, but she managed to postpone our tour for a few hours!! Thanks again Ocean!! We were picked up at our hotel by the lovely Emma, visited a local market & tasted some yummie Chengdu snacks, walked to ChilliCoolChina's teahouse for tea, and started the mahjong course. Emma patiently explained the basic rules and we started playing. Then another staff member joined in and we could play a few rounds with 4 persons. Truly a wonderful experience! Highly recommended

Pleasant Family Time - It seemed like every other activity in Chengdu involved pandas or food, so we tried this out. My mother-in-law is an avid mahjong player, so this was something to share with her grandchildren (12 and 13). The table was a mechanical sort variety and despite being in a building with many smokers was thankfully smoke-free. Our instructor, Ocean, was the nicest, most patient young woman who speaks passable English. We spent a half hour walking through a simulated game and then several hours playing 2 variants of mahjong separated by a decent lunch. My daughter won enough to keep happy but my son would rather read his Kindle.

So much fun! - Winter, a local guide and a very good Mahjong player, gave us a nice introduction to this difficult game. Step-by-step and in a fun way we learned the Chinese symbols (1-10) and the rules of the game. We played a couple of games in a nice warm room (it’s cold in Chengdu in the Winter!) and on a cool professional Mahjong table. We actually know the basics of the game and will for sure play it when we’re home. Winter knows Chengdu very well and helped us with lots of stuff. Like a good place to have diner, buying a nice Mahjong set for home and he also was a translator during cooking class! This class is a fun must do if you got time in Chengdu!

Great half day lesson! - My guide, Ocean, was very knowledgeable and was a great instructor. We visited a local market and she pointed out different spices and things of interest. Afterwards, we went to a local tea house and she taught the game of mahjong. I'd definitely recommend the tour to anyone. Nice relaxing time.

Great private Mahjong course - Great half day tour. Nobody else on the tour so it was essentially a private tour. First part was walking tour of farmers market with spices, fresh vegetables and meats on display. The Mahjong lesson was great fun and informative. Winter the guide spoke excellent English and knowledgable.
