Additional Information

Situated only 130 kilometers from Bangalore exist the enigmatic and allegedly cursed temples of Talakadu. Initially a fertile region attributed to its nearby river, a haunting curse led to Talakadu’s consumption by sand dunes - surprisingly lacking any desert-like weather in its surroundings. Many temples have been unearthed from these dunes, providing an idea of their scale.
Of the unearthed temples, five are dedicated to Lord Shiva - referred to as the Panchalingeshwara Temples. Additionally, don’t miss the tranquil ‘Shivanasamudra’ waterfalls and the architectural brilliance of the ‘Somnathpura’ temples.

A day outside of Bangalore - This was a good day excursion outside Bangalore, near Mysuru. It was not rainy season so the waterfalls were ok, not a high volume of water. The cursed temples were interesting- be prepared for a bit of a walk between temples, and watch out for the monkeys! Overall the destinations were fine. My only recommendation is that given it is. 3+ hour drive, it would have been good if the driver had planned ahead for a rest area that was clean/modern for bathroom breaks.
