Additional Information

Your guide will escort you through the significant historical locales of Cetinje, where you’ll witness its most noteworthy landmarks, scenic parks, and attractive walkways. You’ll view the renowned Blue Palace, constructed in the 19th century for Prince Danilo. As you stroll through this quaint historical town, you’ll come across several old embassies, now serving different functions but still operational. You’ll also witness the remnants of the ancient Cetinje Monastery from the 15th Century and the 19th Century Cipuri church before reaching the Monastery of Cetinje, which was restored in the early 1700s and remains the heart of our Orthodox church to date. This journey will expose the elegance of the new castle, also referred to as Biljarda, the residence of our ruler and poet Njegoš. Our tour guide will subsequently present you with the monument commemorating Ivan Crnojevic, the founder of Cetinje, before we wrap up the tour at King Nikola’s Palace, the last monarch of the Petrović dynasty.

If you visit Cetinje, you should take this guide - Filip was our guide for a 1-hour walking tour of the city of Cetinje. I can only say that without his guidance we would have missed 90% of the interesting bits. The tour was entertaining and full of of historic information. It gave us a good picture of the history of Montenegro (which we knew nothing about). I highly recommend to take this tour. On top, you get the good tips on where to eat authentic local food and what other places are worth to visit on the country. We enjoyed it a lot, thanks Filip!
