Stunning views, helpful staff, lots of interest for men and women. - The views and scale of the operations. Our driver, Giorgio, had a ton of local knowledge. The young lady who translated for us in English (and I am sad to have missed her name) was extremely nice and went the extra mile by giving four or us and our backpacks a ride to the train station just in time. Brava!!! Other staff assisted on the front end as our train was running late. All around, a great group of people, representing their town and industry well. Grazie mille!

Fun and Informative! - Our guide Luca was great—drove up and down hairpin turns to show us the marble caves and was very knowledgeable about the process of cultivating the marble. Some awesome views of the Valley and Carrara.

You’ll be so glad you did this! - We especially enjoyed seeing the marble studio, mountains, and caves up close. Luca was a great guide with excellent explanations and with customizing our agenda for the changing weather. We also like Viator for making it so easy to find and participate in custom tour options.

Luca, thank you for your availability and preparation - A memorable tour with the guide Luca who carefully explained us and led us to touch the sky with a finger on the marble quarries in Carrara. We met an exceptional person who was helpful, smiling and very knowledgeable! The next visit will be to visit Michelangelo's quarry! Congratulations again, Clara

You should have seen it. - We decided at short notice to go on a trip to the marble quarries because it was too hot on the beach. When we arrived at the office (free parking) we were given friendly information about the different tours. We decided to visit the marble caves. We were first driven in small buses through a tunnel into the cool caves (a sweater is recommended). We were then divided into different tours depending on the language we wanted. The caves themselves were very impressive and our guide was friendly, competent and had a lot of interesting information about marble and how it is mined. Grazie Sonja.

Fascinating present and past stories - Learning how this mine works made all the difference to the tour. History and present day working mingled with nature made for an interesting tour.

A word of advice to Lucca - It was a miserable experience for us two six-footers who ended up in the third row of the 4x4, over the rear axle. Our heads were literally on the ceiling, while the second row trio had at least a foot of headroom. Perhaps the tour guide should be more interested in making sure everyone has a good experience by assigning seats appropriately. So not only was it uncomfortable but there was no chance of a view from our perch other than looking down at the asphalt road. Thank goodness for the stops! However the quarry was amazing and I’m sure the guide’s commentary was good but we couldn’t hear it from the back. Would I do it again? Yes! But I’d be the first one to get into the car.

Last minute cancellation - I can't believe how disappointing our experience was with this booked tour. Just 1.5 hours before it was set to start, they had the audacity to cancel on us. We were already en route to the pick-up point and had incurred extra costs just getting there. And their solution? They asked us to reschedule for another date, without even considering compensating for the added expenses we had to bear. This level of disregard for their customers' time and money is simply outrageous.
