- Table Mountain - The trail derives its name from the distinctive shape of the ravine nestled between two towering rock formations, offering one of the most scenic viewpoints and photo opportunities. The path begins just behind the lower cable car station, ascending directly up Table Mountain until it intersects with the contour path. The route then climbs gently up a gully on the Venster buttress, curving left beneath a natural rock amphitheater. Nearing the amphitheater’s eastern extremity, the path steepens, requiring some straightforward scrambling. Stay alert, as the most thrilling part is yet to come! Engineered staples and chains along the route make the climb more accessible and secure. After navigating this climbing segment, the trail eases as it reaches “The Ledge,” turning a corner where a refreshing breeze often greets hikers, providing a perfect moment to savor the panoramic views of Camps Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Continuing around the next bend, one is met with towering cliffs overhead. The path then ascends sharply to a higher ledge beneath grand overhangs, veering away from the ocean and into a shaded ravine that may be chilly and breezy, especially during morning hikes. The summit of Table Mountain is a mere 10 minutes from this point - congratulations on your achievement!

Our group size for hikes is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 4 people to ensure a personalized and engaging experience with our tour guide. The India Venster hiking trail is renowned for its strenuous path and dramatic panoramas. The term ‘Venster’, translating to ‘window’ in Afrikaans, designates the breathtaking viewpoint we encounter, encapsulated by two imposing rock outcrops. Trekking up Table Mountain, one of Africa’s most distinguished peaks and a global natural wonder, offers a unique exploration into a specific floral realm found solely in the South Western Cape, colloquially referred to as fynbos. This is the tiniest yet most abundant of the six floral kingdoms on Earth, encompassing a large variety of proteas, ericas, and restios. The mountain is home to several unique species, such as the elusive ghost frog, endemic to Table Mountain. A more exotic species also inhabiting Table Mountain is the Himalayan Tahr, a type of ‘wild mountain goat’ originally from Northern India, Southern Tibet, China, and Nepal.

A great challenge with beautiful views - A challenging climb but worth it for the views and feeling of achievement. André my guide was very good, encouraging at the difficult climbing and maintaining the right pace for me.

A must see - It was a bit wet and very overcast so we ended up having to go a different route. Our guide Johan was super knowledgeable and the contact was amazing, he let us know the forecast the day before and how to prepare ourselves. We learned so much about the local plants, birds, and geology. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and don't be put off by grey weather!

Awesome hike! - I had such a great time mountain biking with my guide, Patrick, that I signed up to do a morning Table Mountain hike as well. Good to start early (when it’s quieter & cooler) the hike was challenging but still in the realm of my skill set! Patrick knew all the best ways to scramble the more technical areas we came across. He was also very knowledgeable of the area and terrain. Highly recommend this hike for outdoor enthusiasts! Don’t miss out!

Exciting hike and awesome guide - Our guide Patrick was extremely knowledgeable about the history and biology of the area. The pace was perfect, with rest breaks for photos and interesting information. Would definitely recommend for a table mountain hike. This was the best hike me and my wife have ever been on!

India Venster Climb - Patrick took our family group of three up India Venster. We all thoroughly enjoyed the climb and found it physically and technically challenging but great fun. We had lots of short rest stops with some local history from Patrick to recover after difficult sections and this made it more enjoyable. He was very patient with us on the technical sections and gave good advice. Definitely recommend for a half day out in Cape Town.

Great views while hiking up on top of Table Mountain - Patrick was great - very experienced, friendly and helpful! The tour was amazing- great views, steep but with lovely flowers everywhere.

Table Mountain Hike - This was my favourite part of my visit to Cape Town. I would recommend everyone hikes Table Mountain, it’s a far superior experience to the cable car which is over in less than 3 minutes! The hike is enjoyable with some challenging parts. The tour guide is so knowledgeable and really enhanced the experience.
The only thing is trying to get a clear day where you will have a view at the top, but you can’t predict the weather so I would say go for it!

Patrick is awesome! - Patrick was great! I booked the trip last minute and was the only one from my group who went. He picked me up and returned me to my hotel. He knew paths off the trail and gave me the best experience possible. I want to book with him when I return to SA!
