About Victorian Houses Tour
From the prim and proper Victorian era to angsty ‘90s TV shows, San Francisco’s Victorian houses have played a lot of roles. Take a guided stroll through Pacific Heights and Cow Hollow to see over 200 meticulously restored Victorian houses. Learn the difference between Queen Anne, Italiante and Stick-Style Victorian architecture. See where Mrs. Doubtfire was filmed, the Victorian featured in the 90’s sitcom Party of Five and Jessica McClintock’s home (formerly Francis Ford Coppola’s). The company’s guides are long-time San Francisco residents with a penchant for the neighborhood and architecture. Best of all, this tour is an easy walk (no hills!).
Review
Jay was fantastic at describing all the different types of architecture around us. We went past recently restored houses which looked beautiful, some in need of TLC but still architecturally pretty and on to Pacific Heights where the millionaires live. We stopped outside the house used for Mrs Doubtfire and were shown other houses still owned or previously owned by movie stars, politicians and film directors. Our stay would have been considerably less enjoyable without us going on this tour.
