Golden Gate Bridge

There are only a handful of bridges in the world that capture the imagination of everyone who visits, and the Golden Gate Bridge is one of them. A visit to San Francisco just isn’t complete without a view of this splendid 1.7-mi suspension bridge, which is not gold at all, but a reddish-orange color called “international orange.” Completed in 1937 and named after the Golden Gate Strait—the entrance to the San Francisco Bay—the bridge is awe-inspiring in all different lights. See it glow at dawn, radiate at sunset, twinkle at night, or stubbornly peek through the city’s trademark fog. Its beauty opens up as you see it from different vantage points. Whether you cruise under it by boat, fly over it by helicopter, or trek over it by bike, car, or foot—experiencing the bridge will be a day that you never forget.

Review

Weather was fantastic. No fog and didn't even have to wear a jacket. Unusual for summer. Had fantastic views of SF and the Marin Headlands. It is less than 2 mi across, so round trip would be about 3.5 mi. I would encourage everyone to walk the GGB!
