Very Interesting - We had a lovely time at the museum. Not only was it very interesting, but we got to escape the heat, and one of the local tour guides Tony gave us lots of extra information about the displays. He was a very knowledgeable man and we appreciated his effort to educate us on the history of Cairns 🤩

Kind Staff!! - Upon arrival I was welcomed in a friendly manner, and was given all the information I needed. I was suggested to start on floor 2 and so I did. On this floor after time has passed by I was greeted by another member of staff (philipa?) she was lovely and shown me the interactive table which I was unsure how to use at first. Toilets were clean as well as the whole building, and the museum itself was very educational for someone from the UK not knowing a great deal about carins. Thank you Museum team!!

Fantastic - An absolutely amazing museum with so much insight into the history of Cairns. We would happily have spent more time there and it would be a great place to take kids too. Lovely views from the balcony too. Definitely worth a visit.

Very Interesting - We were given a private tour around the museum, going through each exhibit. I’ve been a local in Cairns for over 10 years and still didn’t half as much as what our tour guide told us. The exhibit around the 1890’s is interesting in regards to the indigenous relations and stories that came out of it.

Thorough Historical Exhibition about Cairns - Took part in a guided tour of the museum, for a compact, small-ish looking space, Cairns Museum packs in alot of fascinating information, visuals and media about Cairns' 20th & 21st century history, I would highly recommend this museum for anyone local or visiting to check out for a comprehensive overview of Cairns' history, put aside at least an hour.

A nice visual and informative activity - It was a very great activity that I did with my classmates. I enjoyed the creative distribution of the place and designed spaces. We had a pleasant tourguide. And also, the museum is open for people who want to volunteer, a great opportunity to involve more in Cairns culture.

Down memory lane - Very focused on the mixed history of Cairns and its diversity of populations. Lots of memorabilia which was well labelled and displayed. Friendly staff who would encourage me to visit again since it needed more time to absorb the facts.

A must see for history buffs - Very interesting. I love history and this museum was really relevant to the history of Cairns and how it came to be. This was my first visit to Cairns and I really enjoyed all the exhibits.

A great story of our local region. - As a Cairns local, it was only a matter of time before I headed to the Cairns Museum to see the local history of our region. The set up and displays were amazing, briefly taking visitors on a journey through the history of Far North Queensland. I must note, this is a small museum, as soon as I was immersed in the story and journey, it was over. I will be returning over the next few months to check out any new exhibits.
