Magpie’s Magical Introduction to Cagliari. - This walking tour around the Castella in the old town of Cagliari was led by our guide Maggie. A good tour is dependant on a good guide and Maggie was a great guide. She has a deep interest in history and she shared her knowledge on this topic in a way that was both comprehensive and engaging. She explained the historical legacy of the Phoenecians, Carthagians, Romans concluding with the impact of the 2nd World War on the city. The architecture of the streets, walls and principal buildings were also explained. Her narrative was intertwined with interesting asides, witty observations and humorous interactions. Good suggestions were also given by Maggie on other places to visit, eat and shop and she handled all questions and queries in a thoughtful and respectful manner. Such was our interest that time flew by on this two-hour walking trip. A lovely introduction to the city, thank you Maggie.

Great walking tour by Francesca - Me and my family were given a walking tour off of Francesca. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone visiting Cagliari!! Francesca was great, she knew loads about the city and made the tour really interesting. I think it was well worth the cost! The tour really brought the city to life.

Received a nice review of the city. - Everything went smooth, Pick up was simple and we had an hour or so of the city and beach. Then about an 1 1/2 tour of the inner city. We departed in the shopping area, shopped, then an easy walk to the boat.

Excellent custom tour - We requested a private tour with our kids ages 17 and 19. We customized it just a little with a tour of the following places: - San Benedetto market - panoramic view of the city - drive by Poetto beach - walking tour of Old Cagliari - underground places The tour lasted approximately 6 hours, and it included a stop for lunch. Our tour guide was Valeria, and she was super friendly and knowledgeable! If possible, ask for her when you book! We all really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide made sure to give us just enough background on every place we visited but didn’t overdo it. Our teenage kids periodically tuned out during the historical explanations, but those situations were few. Even grumpy teens can do this tour! Great tour! We enjoyed it.

Fantastic tour by a local - highly recommended. You MUST book! - Firstly, we are delighted to be the first to leave a review of our Panoramic Cagliari and Old Cagliari tour. We visited Sardinia over the long Easter bank holiday weekend and pre-booked the Panoramic Cagliari and Old Cagliari tour via TripAdvisor a couple of days before. We arrived on Easter Friday and received a call from local, Sara, who was giving us the tour, who called to confirm details and collected us on time from our hotel the next morning. We were expecting a group tour, but it turned out that it was just us who had booked the tour for that day - most likely because it was a religious weekend. Sara is an architect who works in the city and because of her study, she knew all about the history of the city, buildings and flamingos. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a great tour guide. We drove down Poetto Beach and saw the flamingos (from the car) fishing in the water - we were even lucky to see a group flying, which was amazing to see. We visited two hills on opposite sides (about 10-15mins apart) where we could look down at the city, seeing the Devil's Saddle. The views were amazing. Afterwards, we headed into the city of Cagliari and walked through the town. We visited a couple of Cathedrals which were beautiful and Sara told us the history of these. We then walked to a high-point and gazed down at the city, which was breath-taking. The panoramic views were stunning. We also saw the ruins of a Roman Amphitheatre. Towards the end of our tour, we asked Sara to leave us in the heart of the city so that we could spend the afternoon there. She recommended a few places to eat, too. We both really enjoyed our panoramic tour of Cagliari and thought that Sara was a fantastic tour guide who really did exceed our expectations. She was punctual, spoke very good English, informative and most importantly, personable. We definitely enjoyed our morning exploring the city and highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the city of Cagliari. (Also Sara's recommendations for a restaurant we visited in the evening was excellent and we have a very enjoyable meal - thank you Sara!).
