Highlights
  • Caesarea National Park - We leave Jerusalem on the way to Tel Aviv and travel up the Mediterranean. The city of Caesarea was constructed under Herod and named after the Roman Emperor, Caesar. From what remains of the ancient city we can see that it was a prosperous and luxurious city. Among the archaeological excavations we can see gateways, a moat and well preserved walls and rooms. There is a perfectly preserved Roman amphitheater which is still used today for performances by Israeli and international artists. Next to the amphitheatre is part of what was once a hippodrome.
  • The Baha’i Gardens - We continue driving north passing through Haifa where we stop to see the breathtaking Baha’i Shrine and gardens. The terraced gardens cascade down the mountain towards the city below, each of the 19 terraces bursts with colorful flowers and landscaped designs.
  • Rosh Hanikra - Our next stop is at Rosh HaNikra, the most northerly point along Israel’s Mediterranean coast. We descend by cable car into the network of limestone grottoes created by the constant bombardment of waves against the rocks.
  • The Lebanese Border - Visit and explore the Grottos at Rosh Hanikra
  • Acre - Visit the Old City of Acre
  • Citadel of Acre - We can see the Crusader remains, the prison used under Turkish rule and the gallows which were used under the British Mandate to hang Jews who broke the British law limiting Jewish immigration to Palestine following World War II.

Rainy day, great tour guide in Avi. - Our Tour Guide, Avi, was very good. We were picked up in Jerusalem and delivered to a park in Tel Aviv to transfer to a different bus for our tour. We did not know that we were going to be transferring or being dropped off in a park in a foreign country in the pouring rain. We were left in the rain at the park for 40 minutes with no shelter until the new buses arrived. We were not told what our new bus would be, so it was an unnecessarily bad start to the tour. The tour itself was good. It was fast paced. It would have been nice to have had time, even ten minutes, to roam around and take pictures at each of the sites, but it was a good tour.

Very interesting trip - This is a very very nice into the northern part of the country. The Baha:I gardens are really nice, you get close to the border with Lebanon at Rosh Hanikra and learn a lot of the history of Israel. The caves at Rosh Hanikra are also very interesting. My only gripe was that we had to leave Jerusalem very early and then change the coach and wait for other people in Tel Aviv. I suppose this only happens in winter when there aren’t that many tourists.

A tremendous overview of ancient history - Our guide Daniel, and driver Bilal, spent an extensive day covering major archeological sites at each of these locations. Daniel was immensely knowledgeable about everything from the archeological evidence of past cultures at Caesarea, the reason for the Baha’i Gardens in Haifa, the geological effects of the sea that made the grottos at Rosh Hanikra, and the history of the Crusader Citadel in Akko. Lunch was at a former market in Akko - choice of vegetarian or chicken shwarma - in an Arab restaurant. If you don’t want to eat at the designated spot, you may want to bring your own lunch. There were a couple of pit stops for coffee (yeah!!) and bathroom breaks. All in all, this is a very worthwhile trip if you have an interest in history.

Bus Ride from Hell - Much too long a day. Over 15 hours from pick up at 0540 to hotel return 9pm. Booked as trip from Jerusalem with return to Jerusalem. Instead shuttled to other bus and return to TelAviv, multiple hotel stops then transferred to a van for trip to Jerusalem. Sites seen fine. Travel/bus management terrible. Definitely would not recommend this trip to my clients.

Beware of Tour Service from Bein Harim - 7/26/2019, While tour, I was left in middle of nowhere. At the drop-off switch point to Jerusalem or Tel-Aviv in Haifa, guide left me somewhere in Haifa. There was no seats for the return of Tel-Aviv which i confirmed two times with Guide and other Staff. They told me to take taxi left the place without any instruction. i had no option except paying more than 400 Shekel. I called main office and promised to refund taxi cost but no other reply yet. Other part, you will need to pay over priced lunch and designated shop for over priced item. pretty old fashion tour you can expected.
