Wonderful lace and staff - Spent a wonderful 4 hours here today. Beautiful gardens really interesting history and spotlessly clean. Had a beautiful lunch of spit roast venison served with pearl barley wild garlic and nettle pesto cooked by a lovely friendly and entertaining bunch of young people. We enjoyed a pint of the black stuff and an ice cream.! Special thanks to three of the best guides ever, Connor Mary and Michael full of knowledge and entertaining. Highly recommend visit

A fine way to spend a weekday afternoon! - On a gorgeous chilly but sunny April day in Ireland, while driving on our way from Galway to Cork and saw the sign for Bunratty Castle, my wife and I made a sudden decision to visit there. We toured ourselves through the lovely Bunratty Folk Park grounds and enjoyed it very much. We walked and climbed everywhere we were allowed in the castle, and learned good things from every building's plaques and signs. What we really liked was meeting and talking with the various experts in the park: the blacksmith, the butter churning demonstrator, and especially the ceramic shop proprietor, just to name a few. It actually wasn't too touristy on a weekday in April, and we really got to meet them. The cafe was decent, although warm indoor seating options were few. Snacks and hot tea were welcome in the brisk weather, but nothing out of the ordinary. When we got home, my wife tried her hand at making fresh butter from scratch, and it is fantastic. Thanks, Bunratty, for the memories, and the delicious new skill!

Recommended right along the highway - Nice to stop here. Park was a lot bigger than we expected. Lots to see about the past and everything is well maintained and nicely set up. Very expensive if you go here with a family

Beyond amazing Time!! - The way the staff embody the times and roles is amazing, you really feel you are in 1840's +. The sights, the animals, just the complete immersion into a new place and time. Dont miss the school house, those ladies were amazing! Highly recommended, and don't forgot to buy a bottle of Bunratty mead..it is divine.

See a castle and learn Gaelic in one visit. - It was a great time; the staff was educated. It was amazing to see history so well preserved. The school's professor was so nice to talk with. He gave us a brief Gaelic lesson and was also very interested in our story of what brought us to Ireland. Well done Bunratty staff.

Excellent castle and village experience - A trip back in time worth the trip! The guides are friendly and well informed. Being in the castle brings 15th century life to life! Great care is taken to reproduce village life.

I recommend - What a wonderful place. Castle, town. You can spend the whole day there. The castle shows life in past centuries. Very narrow stairs, you have to give way. But very interesting. You can climb to the roof from 4 towers. I recommend listening to a guide with history. There are majestic cannons on the street in front of the castle. I liked school, how quickly time flies. There are a lot of souvenirs you can buy. Park and animals, I recommend for after with children. It will be very interesting.

Staff are super knowledge and you can chose whether or not to do the tour The castle involves a few steps but it is well worth visiting first After the castle you can explore the park which is so interesting and full of lots of cute little details Our favourite was Michael playing the violin outside the tea shop We can't wait to visit again Top tip would be to wear old shoes as some of the ground cam be quite muddy and lots of puddles of its rained
