Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most potent thermal hot spring, provides 180 litres/second of boiling water. Hraunfossar, a series of stunning waterfalls and rapids formed as clear, cold springs of subterranean water seep through the lava and into the Hvítá river. Reykholt is a historical gem of Iceland, once home to the author Snorri Sturluson from 1206-1241. The tour also features Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier spanning approximately 950 square kilometers or 367.000 square miles. The Whale fjord tunnel, 5770 meters (18,930 feet) long and goes as deep as 165 meters (541 feet) below sea level, inaugurated in 1998, is also part of the itinerary.
