Special memories made - Me and my mom did this tour Tuesday 16th April and it was absolutely fabulous!!! The guide Emmanuele was fantastic, she's so friendly and has so much interesting information to offer, Nicole was also a lovely person and will make a fantastic guide too! The trip to Saint Emilion was incredible starting at a beautiful historic church and then absorbing the views from the Bell Tower at the top of the town, a walk through the town gave us a super interesting insight to the history of Saint Emilion. We then visited a vineyard - Château Grangey - the owner Franc was welcoming and friendly with lots of interesting information and fabulous wine, we got to taste 3 which were all fantastic and different. The surroundings of the vineyard in the French countryside is beautiful. I'm absolutely going to book another trip to Saint Emilion with Olala next time I'm in Bordeaux, however next time I'd like more time in Saint Emilion so would book a full day trip. Thank you Jess and Debbie

Would recommend! - Our guide Valentin was very knowledgeable and was receptive in answering all of our questions! First, we did a tour of the medieval village of St. Emilion, which was so stunning. Then, we headed to a winery to try four wines! Unfortunately it was raining when we went so we were unable to explore the actual winery, but the owner of the vineyard gave us a tour of their indoor facilities. It would have been nice if the tour included some food, but Valentin gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and things to do for the rest of our time in Bordeaux.

Good day out - The walk around st emilion was interesting and our guide very informative, the details also said visit to a chateau which didn’t happen with no explanation, thought I must have got it wrong till I checked later. Although our guide explained that any house with a vineyard was called a chateau so presumably that’s their way round that

Fun and entertaining - would recommend - Truth be told, there's not a lot to see and do in St Emilion if you're not deeply into wine, or have a tour of the excavated "monolithic" church. Still, our guide Vincent made the tour informative and entertaining. The winery tour was interesting and the tastings quite fun as well. Despite many visits to wineries over the years, there's something new to learn in every region. The tour was worth the time and money, and we may return to St Emilion to see more of the underground - both Church and wine caves.

Great experience - Due to bad weather, I felt that tour was interrupted somehow. I would also be happier if the tour guide provided more historical background info. Don’t get me wrong, our tour guide did a good job. He tried his best but our group members were too diverse in terms of knowledge of and interests in St Emillion.

Disappointing - I don’t think this was the right tour for our group. It basically was 2hrs (1hr each way) in a van listening to our guide give us a full on history lesson. Although he was very knowledgable of the region and the history of Bordeaux/Saint Emilion etc, we all found it taxing and somewhat draining to listen to someone drone on and on. The region is beautiful and we would have loved to have stopped at at least 2 or 3 wineries. We went to one small winery. Had 3 tastings, and was back in the van. We spent more time getting to this winery than we did at the actual winery. The history tour continued thru the beautiful town of Saint Emillion. We had about 5mins on our own, so no time to explore and see the town other than what our guide showed us. We traveled from Paris for this tour and we were all rather disappointed as were others in our group. I think the focus should be on the wineries if it’s being marketed as a “wine tour”. It’s the furthest thing from that.

Wine tour but not actually wine drinking - Our guide was incredible knowledgeable. In fact he had an unbelievable amount of knowledge but we in the back kind of struggled to hear him. The tour took us through all of St Emilion, but we only had one wine tasting. I guess it was in the fine print, but when I booked a wine tasting I expected a few stops in the actual winery and not the pointing out and history while we drove by. Beautiful country, but we didn’t really get to fully enjoy it. Make sure to know that this is not a wine tour but a history tour of St Emilion. Did not realize that, as the wine tasting part was part of the title. Shame on me. This trip could be enhanced with more stops for pictures in the farm part and an explanation up front that we will have one stop for a wine tasting, and then you can buy a bottle in St Emilion or something. The trip was not what I expected but I can’t say it was bad because it was what it said it was. I misunderstood and thus my disappointment. If you want a wine tasting tour with multiple stops for wine tasting this isn’t it. If you want a robust history of St Emilion this is your trip!
