Additional Information

Commencing at the summit of Vidova Gora, the highest peak on Brač Island, this bike tour concludes at the coastline. It follows a 22-kilometre route that can be traversed within approximately 2:30 hours. The intriguing feature of this journey is the drastic contrast in the climate and flora found at the mountain’s peak and by the seaside.

Vidova Gora mountain not only boasts the finest panoramic view on the island, but also untouched natural landscapes and an excellent biking trail. As we descend from the mountain, shrouded by black pines, our path leads toward various villages.

We’ll travel through Nerežišća - situated at the junction of the island’s main roads - and Škrip, Brač’s most ancient settlement where we’ll tour the Museum of Oil. This museum depicts the traditional methods of producing olive oil on Brač Island. The Museum of Oil showcases a variety of historic instruments used in olive oil production including an olive mill, pressing equipment, a spindle for tightening the press screw, bags, a fireplace for heating water, and all the conventional tools used in the transport, manufacture, and storage of olive oil.

Fantastic - Best tour of our holiday! Thank you so much to Neda our tour guide - fit, fun and fantastic. Ivana who organised everything and Ivan who collected us. So well organised, the olive oil museum was amazing. Highly recommend this tour company! Our sunset kayaking was also brilliant.

Best way to see this stunning island - We had an amazing cycle tour led by Daniel who was very knowledgeable about the island. The visit to the olive oil museum was great, as was the meal there. Would thoroughly recommend!

Wonderful tour of Brac - Great tour Daniel was informative. Felt like we saw a lot of the island that we wouldn't have seen without a local guide. The included Olive Oil Museum was a pleasant surprise with the generous food consisting of cheese, jams, oil, wine and more. We did this tour as a day trip from Split. They were able to accommodate our arrival time from Split by the ferry. Highly recommend this tour. The best tour of our trip!

Amazing experience and a must do when visiting Brac! - The bike tour with Brac Adventures exceeded my expectations by a mile.. Cycling down that mountain and through all these beautiful little towns was a very authentic experience and the views were spectacular. The olive oil museum was very interesting and a great pleasure to visit. But first and foremost the guide’s performance was outstanding and the experience wouldn’t have been the same without his ambition, expertise and wit! Daniel clearly has ambition and interest in what he does which shines through.

Don’t be scared… - If you can ride a bike (and know how brakes work) reasonably competently, you should be able to manage this tour. I did this on my 60th birthday. We personally didn’t feel there were any steep inclines, drop-offs or dangerous traffic to fear. It is mostly downhill on reasonably quiet tarmac road surfaces (especially at the start), a short section of slight uphill road in the middle section of the tour and a small amount of mostly level well compacted unmade road/track at the end towards Postira. Our local guide, Daniel, was excellent, freely sharing his enthusiasm and passion for his home island with information and insight about the history, culture, people, flora and fauna of the island, occasionally getting us off the bikes to find some hidden places and views that tourists would not normally find. After the minibus transfer from Supetar, the views at the top of the island from Vidova Gora are spectacular. The varied environment as the altitude changes on the way down provides interest all the way, passing through the villages of Nerezisca and Splitska. The excellent olive oil museum in Skrip gave us a welcome break for tasting the home-produced oil and other local produce. The biking part of the tour ends in Postira, with a minibus transfer back to Supetar. The Brac Adventure team looked after us really well in terms of their helpfulness, friendliness, equipment and transfers etc. They clearly pride themselves on giving their customers a quality personal experience and sharing their knowledge of all the island has to offer. All in all, a great afternoon/evening.

Excellent way to view parts of the island in a totally different way! - What a great experience and a completely different way to experience the island! The stop at the Olive Oil Museum was a great way to break up the ride, and the food they served us was fantastic. Definitely don’t forget to take water and some sun cream, as even though you might not think it you definitely catch the rays! The guides taking the tour were so lovely and friendly, if we had more time we’d definitely be doing one of their other tours. Thank you so much and we hope to see you again soon!

Great views but too scared to enjoy ride... - The view from Vidova Gora - Dol was breathtaking. The majority of the ride down the mountain required constant and vigilant braking skills. There are parts where you must not take your eyes off the road for even minute or it could be disastrous. Lots of narrow roads with some traffic with steep drops-offs and rarely a shoulder to pull off on to get away from cars. This trip does involve some hill climbing and is not all down hill. I would certainly not take children on this trip. There are too many risks for children who are easily distracted and what child isn't easily distracted? Daniel was a good guide and navigated our way down skillfully and safely. If I had know more details about this trip I would not have taken it.

This tour is VERY dangerous!!!! - This tour is VERY dangerous!!!! The roads on Brac are narrow and not enough room for bikes and cars. The locals dislike these bike tours, fear of running a biker over. The tour operators know these roads are dangerous yet they still keep booking only for the money. Sad.
