Magical Fire Flies - Magical experience, to see the fire flies lighting up the trees Iike a Christmas tree, and catching them with the cup of your hand and watching them fly off again. The boat ride in the dark was also quite fun and the stars were also amazing! Guide was very friendly and provided helpful info about the mangrove and fireflies. To be honest it wasn’t swarms of them but still enough to wow you. Apparently it’s better right after the rain and on moonless nights. In case you’re wondering, this is the same place for the mangrove tour, but a shorter ride because it is it safe to go into the mangrove at night when the snakes come out. :)

The guide was so awesome and I must say that he is super talented with language as well as knowledge of the tour! - Great tour experience for young kids who are always coped in the city! It is great to be outdoor and close to nature. And the feeling of catching a firefly in your hand is so surreal. Not only that, the sky was beautiful and we even saw a shooting star. I must commend the tour guide that he was so talented in different languages and knowledgeable! Overall, an amazing experience and worth every dollar spent.

Stunning tour of the mangroves and Bintan nature - Loved it. LOVED IT! It was truly a special experience with Ajee (our tour guide) who showed and explained the wildlife beautifully. Second tour we took with... - Second tour we took with this tour operator (first one was the Snorkeling tour). Again, highly recommended for great communication, punctuality and fun for the whole family. Highlight is no doubt the firefly which we saw plenty of. What exceeded expectations was to be able to hold them in our hands. Even our 6yo got to do that. We also enjoyed the boat ride by itself.

Unique Experience to end your night - If you book from Bintan Taxi, please look for Hitler Sinatra. He is knowledgeable, amazing and fun! He is very polite, and he is flexible and goes out of his way to make sure you experience Bintan under proper weather and circumstance. I highly recommend Hitler Sinatra. The firefly tour was a simple and beautiful experience.

Surprisingly good - It was actually quite good. Wizzing along the river and mangroves in darkness was kind of mystical. Our guide was sweet but his English was limited so we didn’t get much information. The fireflies were really lovely- looked like Christmas tree lights when got close. The guide would catch some in his hands and give them to you to hold and watch fly off. We had dinner at a local seafood place in the mangroves which was a good experience

Great experience and highly recommended. - Arrangement was made from The Anmon Resort Bintan taxi counter. The taxi ride was 5mins from the resort. The guide and the boat master knows exactly where to bring us to see the firefly in action. Visited multiple spots to catch the swarm up close, touching the branches of the mangrove trees. The whole ride took approximately an hour. One thing to note is to verify the mode of payment. You might ended up having to pay in cash and if you did not have it ready, might be tricky. Overall, a great experience that’s recommended when you are here in Bintan.

fireflies in the rain. - the firefly tour was ok, not particularly spectacular but friendly and low stress. do not use insect repellant you won't need it and I doubt the flies like it !

OK for a quick get-put-of-your-resort trip - Very basic tour but straightforward - drive to dock, jump on noise motor boat, drive around the mangrove looking for fireflies for a while, return. Don't expect too much but good for a quick getaway from a bog-standard Bintan Resort.
